EJ Manuel out (for rest of pre-seaon) in Buffalo

Same old Bills. They have the worst luck. They are cursed, I swear they are!

Kolb will be starting week 1 I bet...or a gimpy rookie...take the pats D guys

first it was Brady2Moss...now EJ Manuel....seems like you get around Brady_2_Moss...just wish you'd get your steely knives sharpened for Moonhead Over Denver...:fear:

I think we'd all prefer to see Kolb in week one, and while no one here will root for injuries to other players--it's probably a good thing for Pats fans.

On another note--who was it last night that claimed they were "having a hell of a time trying to decipher BUF's 'exotic' look defense?" That quote surprised me a bit. It sounds like they've possibly made some strides on that side of the ball a bit, especially if they get their ballhawk safety to return which I suspect they will by week #1.

Ponder.

It's a Pettine defense and apart from the odd time where he totally changed EVERYTHING, the Pats haven't had too much trouble against him.

A vanilla scheme college defense confuses Ponder.

Kevin Kolb beat us at home last season. And are we supposed to be afraid of a rookie QB making his first start? We'd probably win anyway, and it would be a good opportunity to get game tape on him

Bills seem to have the worse luck of anyone injury wise. Their IR list seems to always end up with like 20+ people.

With a huge assist from a replacement ref and a missed 42 yard field goal...

...and a Nathan Ebner whiff during punt protection, and one big play wherein Kolb should've been sacked
by Ninko but instead ran for big yards plus 15 because of an OOB hit (Chung?).

IOW, Kolb didn't do jack squat against us. I really hope he's the Opening Day starter.

This NEW and HUNGRY D will be enjoying some Kolb-e Beef on game 1.

I don't think too many are really going to attribute Kolb's performance himself to beating us. What specifically beat us (aside from a missed 42 yd FG at the end, and a very bad holding call on Gronk) was the ARZ defense....not Kevin Kolb.

As far as being afraid of rookies making their first start, I don't remember anyone saying that. I said that I think we'd all prefer Kolb over Manuel due to the fact that he'd be more of a pocket presence without a threat of running.

It also should be noted that these rookies you speak of have given our defense a run for their money lately, even if statistically Belichick has a good record vs them. Matt Flynn on MNF and Russell Wilson last season in SEA come to mind as recent times where it was much tougher than anyone figured.

So pats will start the season by playing:

Kolb
Sanchez
Freeman

I like. SHOULD be 3-0 to begin the year

It's looking like that will be the case, although the middle game at NY may still be a toss up between Sanchez and Smith starting.

Fixed that for you.

I think this injury to Smith will really hurt him..they will make the change a few weeks in IMO

Believe it or not, I heard these words today on TV. "Blaine Gabbert is picking apart the Jets defense!" and "The Jacksonville O are only being stopped by their own penalties."

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Kolb notch a win over us last year?

Chickens are fur eatin' not counting!

The Cardinals defense & scab refs beat the Patriots last year, Kolb was not very good (15/27 140 and a TD which came from a drive starting inside the 5 after a blocked punt IIRC).
