From our initial viewing, it looked like another strong effort from the burly tight end, as he helped to set the edge and kick-start the running game. He played 19 snaps tonight, seven more than his 12 against the Eagles.

I think Ballard is one of the pieces of the offense that we won't see much of until the regular season. He's getting excellent PT as a lineman and did a solid job getting off the line and into linebackers on running plays last night. There's no reason, with Sudfeld emerging, to send him out in space in the preseason. Better to work on timing and blocking schemes.
