Now that's offensive. Myself, I volunteered in the USAF from 83-89. Did I see combat? Nope Did it matter to me if I had? Nope You join up and take your chances. The fact is I took 6 years away from my family and friends to make sure we all enjoy the freedom that we do. As I was leaving all 24 of those B-52 bombers that I had worked on were combat ready and set to deploy to Saudi. That was my job. I've been told by several friends who went TDY with them, that they did indeed do what we had prepared them to do. BTW E-4 Sgt pay in 1989 was $6000.00 per year. You're welcome:rant:
Thank you.
I think he was confused by the "volunteered to serve" and "actually served"
I filled out my Selective Service form - so I guess I "volunteered" for a still currently non-existent draft. I'm not expecting a medal for that - after all, the US Postal Service was responsible for it. They probably lost my forms within the first day.
Actually "serving" has nothing to do with going to war. Not to belittle combat losses, but I think the stats show that even through the more recent Gulf War you're more likely to die in an accident while in the military, than in combat.
The point is even "routine" non-wartime military service involves major risks and loss of life and other injuries - and the whole point is to be prepared and provide a deterrent to war - so again, THANK YOU!
Now I have to know - are you a dude or a chick? And if you're a dude, why choose a moniker referencing a hilariously deceased Animal House character? (Not that you really need a reason - if anything maybe it will prompt our younger readers to make sure they make Animal House required viewing.)
Now, back to On Topic:
Belichick will decide who makes the roster. He's had 3rd string backups on the roster before. Many have been far worse than Tebow, and have lacked Tebow's trick play or bootleg abilities (and note that even in a "bad" pre-season game where the D expected him to run he still averaged nearly 8 yards a carry)
So despite all those who KNOW that Tebow is worthless, the only relevant point is that Belichick disagrees, because if he felt Tebow was worthless he wouldn't even be on the roster.
Whether he makes the team is up to Tebow and Belichick - not any of fans here who think they know more than our coach/GM.
