Slow your roll there captain. I appreciate it an all, but why don't we just start with the idea that even though I'm a Tebow supporter, I probably do know a little bit more about football than you thought I did.

We can work from there
If you actually believe that Tebow has a place on the Patriots 53 man roster, then no you do not know much about football. If you think he can make a roster in the NFL, you may be right. The Jags, Raiders and oopps the Jets come to mind.

You made no mention of southern schools in your initial bigoted statement "its like teaching evolution to the south". That's what I called out.

the quote was

"It's like trying to teach evolution in the South." -post #505

Someone called it a racist remark, yet there is no race that I know of that is comprised of creationist zealots. I wouldn't call it bigoted either. It just a recognition that a great many people all over the USA embrace nonsense and call it science, and there is a trend that such attitudes are, in general, more warmly received south of the Mason-Dixon line than they are north of the Mason-Dixon line.

Just as years ago a great many of you Brits quickly jumped onto the "vaccines cause autism" paranoia, and have paid for it in a growing list of deaths brought on by lack of vaccination. This site shows the ripple effect here in the States, even though it never was as well-received as it has been in the UK. Didn't Prince Charles even make some stupid anti-vaccine remarks?

I take a strong anti-ignorance stance.

Re: Ahhh...Sweet Infestation!!

That was a DAFT opinion.

Mallett actually passed the ball and completed more passes, for more yards and led the team to more scores including the winning score, in less than a quarter of play, then the Lemming Leader did in 2 and a 1/2 quarters.

I guess I can refer to you as a 'Mallethead' then. Clearly you see a lot more than most as your defense of his mediocre performances (after two years on this team) implies he has the tools to be a NFL backup (at best) quarterback.
Now who's DAFT?

Whoa whoa whoa... you arent talking tebow, creationism, or calender dates? Gtfo!

Sigh, this thread is awesome. I think.

Off topic: Volunteered to serve or actually served?

If you did, thanks for your service.
Now that's offensive. Myself, I volunteered in the USAF from 83-89. Did I see combat? Nope Did it matter to me if I had? Nope You join up and take your chances. The fact is I took 6 years away from my family and friends to make sure we all enjoy the freedom that we do. As I was leaving all 24 of those B-52 bombers that I had worked on were combat ready and set to deploy to Saudi. That was my job. I've been told by several friends who went TDY with them, that they did indeed do what we had prepared them to do. BTW E-4 Sgt pay in 1989 was $6000.00 per year. You're welcome:rant:

Thank you.

I think he was confused by the "volunteered to serve" and "actually served"

I filled out my Selective Service form - so I guess I "volunteered" for a still currently non-existent draft. I'm not expecting a medal for that - after all, the US Postal Service was responsible for it. They probably lost my forms within the first day.

Actually "serving" has nothing to do with going to war. Not to belittle combat losses, but I think the stats show that even through the more recent Gulf War you're more likely to die in an accident while in the military, than in combat.

The point is even "routine" non-wartime military service involves major risks and loss of life and other injuries - and the whole point is to be prepared and provide a deterrent to war - so again, THANK YOU!

Now I have to know - are you a dude or a chick? And if you're a dude, why choose a moniker referencing a hilariously deceased Animal House character? (Not that you really need a reason - if anything maybe it will prompt our younger readers to make sure they make Animal House required viewing.)

Now, back to On Topic:

Belichick will decide who makes the roster. He's had 3rd string backups on the roster before. Many have been far worse than Tebow, and have lacked Tebow's trick play or bootleg abilities (and note that even in a "bad" pre-season game where the D expected him to run he still averaged nearly 8 yards a carry)

So despite all those who KNOW that Tebow is worthless, the only relevant point is that Belichick disagrees, because if he felt Tebow was worthless he wouldn't even be on the roster.

Whether he makes the team is up to Tebow and Belichick - not any of fans here who think they know more than our coach/GM.

I got kicked out of the service. Where's my parade?

Also, what's with trying to bring personal life into it as though that lends importance to your posts.

I don't care if you served on the ******* nobel prize committee that awarded the prize for lifetime achievement to little orphan annie, it doesn't mean you are a good poster on a football forum.

Honestly dude I have no idea why the Pats signed Tebow. It pisses me off to see all the clown fans that come aboard who love jesus and know 0 about football claiming Tebow should be get playing time. I could run a better offense than him. Dude is straight garbage and if it wasnt for the "good god allmight i love jesus" mumbo jumbo BULL**** he would be out of a job selling insurance.

Literally the WORST QB ever to dawn a Pats jersey in the Belichick era, Id take Rohan Davey in a heartbeat over this clown any day.

You sir, are an idiot.

In fact, I hear there are "cohorts that hold oulandish beliefs" in this very thread. Bwah. Where's my goat head?

here she is...just for EWE, darlin'...

Yea - I worked in the Boston sports media with NESN and the Patriot Ledger. I have a degree in journalism. I worked in Chicago and Tucson, Arizona in addition to Boston. You have nothing on me sunshine. If you want to start insulting me some more, by all means. Do so.

You have been insulting me for quite some time. Today has been no different.

I've always thought you had a journalism background...and as you well know, I have unmercifully attacked you before because I have an unbelievable distrust of all media. That said, the last thing I would ever think of calling you is uneducated. You are opinionated and you are unafraid to back your opinion which is what makes for vibrant message board repartee. I only wish I had met you earlier the previous decade if only to pick your brain about Tony Gasbaggarotti.

Easy request: Please link 1 post where someone is saying Tebow should be getting playing time.

I mean, if all these clowns are all over this board clamoring for Tebow to get playing time over Brady or Mallett than it should be pretty easy.

Thanks! I apparently have a reading comprehension issue since I haven't seen a ******* one.

Not talking specifically on this message board (even tho theres that christian guy name who just happened to show up after Tebow was signed). Theres other pats fans that arent on this message board...(believe it or not) that are just plain out ridiculous.

No, it's fact, with respect to Florida anyway, and the complaints about the creationism quip someone made a few pages back. I live there & I have had to argue with my kids' science teachers about their stupidity.

See this interactive map of schools in the USA teaching creationism and accepting public vouchers.

Florida is #1 by a mile, though Indiana and Ohio deserve mention as northern state that give Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana a run for their money as runners-up in the "teaching crap as science" department

Interactive Map: Voucher Schools Teaching Creationism | BillMoyers.com

Funny, but I don't see ANY blue dots anywhere in what I call "the north", which coincidentally, is where I LIVE. I guess THAT ends the "that list is wrong!!!there's more creationist schools in the NORTH!!" diatribe...now my understanding is SDI stands for Strategic Defense Initiative..please,do not even entertain the thought of pre-emptively bombing my home over an erroneous statement on YOUR part.

edit: (that "YOUR" does NOT refer to you,Palm Beach..sorry I'm so unclear...)

I'm a dude. Who in 1981 saw Animal House for the first time. In high school, all I did was work out, wrestle and go to school. Actually my parents gave me spending money so I could concentrate on wrestling/working out. By the time I was ready for college, I was so burned out. Just won nationals in AAU at 126 lb and decided to walk on at Indiana State University. In 1982 ISU was ranked 5th in the nation in wrestling. (Bruce Baumgarter) And the guy at my weight class was state champion and I had just beat him a month before. Long story short, I was miles from mom and dad, just got introduced to women and alcohol and my favorite new movie was Animal House. Destined for failure. I did achieve a 0.0 from never going to class. And the only wrestling I ever did again was in the barracks. So when I decided my online persona in 1997 all I could think about was the dead chick in my favorite movie. It's been 25 years since I saw the movie, but I'm sure I was the first to use this name on the internet. It's unique and I love that it makes younger posters to watch the flick just to get what other posters say about me. I made a pot for you.

If you did, thanks for your service.

Hi - I volunteered to serve and I was stationed overseas in the Gulf from the time Desert Storm was being planned and through Operation Southern Watch.

My family has a history of serving its country and I served in the United States Navy happily (3 years active - 5 reserve).
