If you had to pick one more WR on your Fantasy Football Team to start and Choices were between Amendola or Welker, which one would you choose?

My choice would be Amendola, not because I'm a homer I just think DA with Brady is better makin a catch, YAC, faster leading to more TDs.

Welker has Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker beside him.

Amendola has Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins beside him.

Amendola.

Welker (who had Gronk and Hernandez beside him in the past couple of years and Moss before that and who doesn't have such an extensive injury history)

Amendola.

A reasonable approach. But given Manning's reduced arm strength, Welker may set up to be a bigger part o their offense.

On one hand, Amendola is higher on the depth chart. On the other hand, Welker is on an offense that will run less than we will and has been more durable. It's a toss-up but I'd probably pick Amendola. If Welker were in the situation Amendola is in, I'd pick him any day.

This, Gronk notwithstanding.

I'd probably pick Amendola, then make sure that I had good depth at WR. I think that Amendola will outproduce Welker when healthy, mainly because of the receiving options that they're lining up alongside, and where FF is concerned I'm okay with injury-prone guys, provided that they produce in a big way when healthy. If he's injured, there's always ways to replace him.

Perhaps on the durability, Welker missed 8 months a few years back, just happened to occur on the last game of the season. Little afraid Wes may be hung out over the middle a bit more with his new qb.

First let me say that if I had the chance to get both in my league (this may be possible not sure,) I'd do so without hesitation.

Second, let me state on record I think RIGHT NOW WW is still the better receiver.

Third, I believe Amendola is a larger injury risk.

With all of the above in mind, I still take that injury risk and pick Amendola if I can only get one. I think the inside game is more important for the Pats than the Broncos and with little veteran presence outside, I think Amendola is the go-to guy for the Pats more than Welker with the Donkeys.

For fantasy purposes, if I had to choose between the two, I would go with Welker. Amendola hasn't shown that he can stay healthy and the last thing you want on your roster is a receiver that's going to miss any amount of time, "freak" injury or not. Welker, outside of a torn ACL in Week 17 back in 2009, has been the model of durability, in spite of some of the highlight-reel shots he's absorbed. So, out of the two, I would go with Welker for durability alone (nevermind that he's out-produced Amendola to this point as well).

It all depends if it is a PPR league. If it is a PPR league, then I would still side with Welker. If it is a standard league, then Amendola is probably going to score more than Welker and he will have a higher YAC which should lead to him having about the same amount of receiving yardage, barring injury.

the best piece of advice you can get here is probably not to take fantasy advice from a team's fan forum

I think people are overestimating the "Amendola is unproven" factor, considering what Wes had shown when he got here. And he produced right away in 07.

Fun to compare...

This is so true above, YES!

Danny Amendola beats Wes and here is the reasons why

- Compare stats above and look at who is more accomplished incoming

- Amendola is a few inches taller, which in a receivers case, every little inch definitely helps

- Amendola can go for the deep ball with success

- Amendola has made some clutch plays in his career, particularly against SF

- He is faster, stronger, quicker and more athletic at this point in his career then Wes is

- He has very strong hands

- Looked very good with an average Quarterback and literally NO other weapons around him

This is a team sport. When the Broncos and Pats meet may the best TEAM win.

I miss winning superbowls. Tired of great stats.

I would take welker because of Amendola injury history and the fact that Denver has two good WR's already dose not mean that much Peyton has had three 1000 yard WR's befor and he has had more then one receiver have 100 rec in the same season Welker will have a nice season

All things being equal, Welker will likely outperform Amendola.

But I'm hoping that's because Brady is too busy spreading the ball around.

There's no question Welker has proven to be the better player up until this point but here's hoping that changes this season. I think Josh is behind this move and I think he has shown he can do some pretty good evaluation of receiver talent in Denver.

I would pick Amendola for my fantasy team. Brady is superior to Manning on underneath and slot oriented throws. Manning has had a slot receiver exceed 1000 yards in a season just once in his career, and he has had some good ones, Stokley, Collie, and Gonzalez were all talented players.

I also would be surprised if Welker received much more than half the 174 targets he need last season to get to 118 catches and 1354 yards. Plus I predict at least 1 concussion for Welker in 2013 which will cost him time.

Well, you are no longer a newbie. You have been fully inculcated with the ethos of many on this board.

Wes Welker missed time for 2 games is his nine seasons in the NFL. There is absolutely zero reason for expecting him to lose time in 2013, other than he was one of our top players who chose to sign with another team.

Plus I predict at least 1 concussion for Welker in 2013 which will cost him time.[/QUOTE
