The price of leadership

Ugh. Wow, that was just an aggravating link to read, what a dirtbag.

I saw that earlier, one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read.

The comments section at the bottom slam it pretty hard, earlier a man admitted to being a Raiders fan, he hates the Patriots and loves to read anything negative about them. Even he said it was a horrible article.

I'm just not sure what led Howard Bryant to feel superior enough to call out Brady and Belichick. I personally thought they both handled an awful situation admirably but even if someone didn't share my view, what the hell would led the a person to believe that a NFL QB and HC would have the training or blueprint to handle this type of situation. Talk about irrational expectations.

I think he's married to Ashley Fox. :nooo:

Exactly. It's not the job of my team's coach and QB to make sense of a former teammate allegedly murdering someone. I appreciated reading fans of other teams saying the same thing.

MOST DAYS, the sports industrial complex is merely nauseating, with its overheated cliches of leadership and adversity, respect and disrespect; with its inappropriate war analogies routinely transforming both the English language and any sense of perspective into self-indulgent mush.

When Aaron Hernandez was charged with murder in June, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, the public faces of the New England Patriots, initially said nothing. Belichick was on vacation. Here was the player he scouted, drafted and rewarded with a $40 million contract being connected to two shootings and three murders, and apparently the coach didn't think it was important enough to return home.

That's about how much I got through before I realized it wasn't worth my time to read the rest.

Wow. You made it that far? Beat me by a couple sentences.

Hey! Give this member of the sports industrial complex credit where credit is due. He clearly described himself in his very first paragraph.

You probably cheated and read the thread's responses about how big of a pile of crap that article was before actually clicking on it.

I asked before, but I'll ask again. Is your name Travis, by any chance. I know (or used to know) a Travis in Keystone Heights that was a huge Gator fan.

Interesting that this guy of all people is the one to pile on and point fingers at Belichick and Brady, alleging that they somehow owe the public more.

ESPN's Howard Bryant gets probation on domestic assault charges

Just over three months after being arrested on several charges, including assaulting his wife, committing battery on a police officer and resisting arrest outside a western Massachusetts pizzeria, the case against ESPN senior writer Howard Bryant ended on Friday when he agreed to serve six months of pretrial probation.

The common misconception is that these murders would have never happened if not for the Patriots drafting Hernandez. The reality is that Hernandez’s fiancé who he met in high school and likely would have been with whether he was drafted here or not; her sister dated Lloyd.

Hernandez is a New Englander and likely would have been in this area during his downtime either way (mad love da homey’s), so you cannot say he wouldn’t of been partying in Boston in 7/12 either, the case could be made that if Hernandez wasn’t drafted by the Patriots he’d of killed a lot more people just as easily as people like Howard make this type of case.

The fact is that nobody could cause or change these situations, they were illogical and irrational actions and any rational and logical person will never be able to make sense of it.

Sorry I didn't respond. Being a new guy on the block I didn't know if that was an inside joke of some sort. It's not like we more down to earth Tim fans don't have to carry the load for the fringe element that most all fan bases have. And if you haven't noticed (cough cough), the Tim fan base has some doozies.

Nope, my name isn't Travis. An old friend has a son named Travis though. He's probably about 30 now. They lived on Lake Sante Fe too but moved away a few years back.

@jmt57
Hahaha, that guy's a real piece of work. "Hey Kettle, you're black" says Pot.

Gotcha. When I was fresh out of college and couldn't find work for a while, I took a job at AT&T in Fleming Island which was where I knew him from. Keystone Heights, huge Gator and Tebow fan. It made sense to me, but I guess my spider sense was off a little.

Re: Howard Bryant criticizes Belichick/Brady on handling of Hernandez situation

Not clicking.

Race-baiter Bryant is at it again? ****** him. (And Wilbon, and in the non-sports realm, the Globe's Derrick Jackson.)
