Texans announce "themes" for 2013 home games; Pats game is "homecoming"

re: Texans announce "themes" for 2013 home games; Pats game is "homecoming"

I guess the theme "Dressing like schoolkids and getting our butts kicked" was too long.

Sun., Dec. 1 New England Patriots 3:25 p.m. Homecoming

Because the letterman jackets worked so well for them last time. . . .

At first you think this is rife for comedy, but I can't top the reality.

re: Texans announce "themes" for 2013 home games; Pats game is "homecoming"

Apparently the people in the marketing department of the Houston Texans don't even watch football. It was just seven months ago that they went with the same/similar theme with the players wearing their letterman jackets and the Patriots crushed them, 42-14.

If they really wanted to go with a homecoming them then why not do it for the previous home game, when they play Jacksonville? Most school teams try to schedule their homecoming game against the weakest opponent on their schedule in order to insure a win; instead they schedule it against the team that ended their season and beat them twice by a combined score of 83-42 last year.

So besides the Houston players being required to wear their letterman jackets, what else is there? Will women receive a discount for wearing a corsage to the stadium?

I don't know how the rest of you feel but out of all of the AFC playoff contenders I fear the Texans the least.

The Patriots' season will surely be full of uncertainty (given the losses we've sustained on offense) but one thing is for sure - we will have our way with the Texans in December.

re: Texans announce "themes" for 2013 home games; Pats game is "homecoming"

the pats offense is not the same as last year for better or worst and houstons defense will be much better with Ed Reed playing center field, I still think the pats will win but it wont be no blow out win

Ed Reed is over the hill (according to most Ravens fans) and just had hip surgery. He is not the Ed Reed that had Brady's number years ago.

I agree he's not the same player but it was only 6 months ago that the ravens held the pats to 13 points im sure ed reed helped a lil with that

Much better? Reed is going to be 35 coming off hip surgery, consistently injured, and declining in skills. I actually think the loss of Glover Quin is a bigger loss than Reed is an addition at safety.

I don't know if the Pats will blow out the Texans or not or even win the game, but I think the addition of Ed Reed is one of the more overrated additions of the offseason. Ed Reed is still very good in small spaces, but struggles if he has to cover decent ground.

Ed Reed was a part of that, but let's not act like he was the reason the Pats struggled in the red zone. In fact, the Pats had no problem moving the ball in the open field which Reed also played a part of. The Pats' problem was Brady had no one to throw to when the field got short.

re: Texans announce "themes" for 2013 home games; Pats game is "homecoming"

Ed Reed is irrelevant to the conversation.

Many, many athletes are superstitious, and I'm darn sure there's players on that team that thought "hell, I never want to do that again." Those players are now reading that they DO have to do it again, and they'll be doing it against the same team.

This is incredible and brings me great joy. As long as BB wears a hoodie or a sweatband to this game, we should be fine. (Both would be ideal...)

To be fair, that wasn't the PR department. I believe it was JJ Watt and Connor Barwin who were responsible for the jackets.

Texans calling game at home vs. Pats as 'Homecoming Game'

In college and High School a homecoming game usually is against a much weaker opponent....

Houston Texans peg Patriots for 'Homecoming' game - NFL.com

Do the Texans expect a cakewalk?

Regardless of what this means in the NFL,it seems the Texans will be expecting to win this time thinking the Pats are weaker.......didn't work out last time.

We will win that game by at least 14. Not worried about it.

I like that, the disrespect. im sure our ppl will give the right answer to these dissing.

re: Texans announce "themes" for 2013 home games; Pats game is "homecoming"

All you people discussing Ed Reed when you should really be concerning yourselves with The Texans defense getting a huge shot in the arm with the return of... oh... I dunno.... one hella jacked up on roids Brian Cushing?

'Memba him? Apparently not, since he was conspicuously absent both games.

Which one is the "Enchantment Under the Sea" game?

Brady had nobody to throw to long.

The Ravens were daring him to throw long. Thats always been the way to beat NE if youve paid attention to whats been going on these last few years. Obviously you havent.

The Pats did fine throwing short. 76% of Bradys passing yards came from short throws - 244 out of 320 total = 76%. Furthermore, Brady was 60% when completing short passes - 26 completion out of 43 attempts in the short zone = 60%.

The Pats only saw the redzone once in the 2nd half vs the Ravens and never scored a point. Their redzone woes were that they almost never saw it for 30 minutes. 3 turnovers doomed the Pats. Ridleys fumble @ 21 - 13 the Pats were moving the ball and of course the defense couldnt hold Balt out of the EZ. Brady INT @ 28 - 13 with 7 minutes remaining was plenty of time to mount a comeback, Brady INT @ 28 - 13 with over a minute left.
