American Idol season 4 winner Carrie Underwood wanted Tim Tebow to pay for the Titans after the broncos signed Peyton

Carrie Underwood Wanted Tim Tebow in Nashville - Country Weekly

Carrie Underwood Wanted Tim Tebow in Nashville

When football quarterback Peyton Manning announced he was signing with the Denver Broncos Monday (March 19), the decision was met with both cheers and disappointment from the Nashville community; the Tennessee Titans had hoped to add Peyton to their roster. But, Peyton's signing in Denver meant current Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow would likely be traded. Nashville resident Carrie Underwood recently shared her opinion of the situation, and thought she had a solution.

“Send [Tim] Tebow here [to Nashville]," Carrie told country music news website The Country Vibe. Carrie thought Tim would be a good addition for the Titans, and said she would tell the Broncos, “If you’re done with him we’ll take him," adding, "I just want the Titans to be all they can be."

Alas, Carrie's wish won't come true. Tim was traded to the New York Jets.

I thought she was a Romo fan?

Only just and not worth a damn if you are incapable of throwing for a TD. And at 4.4 yds per completion, I'd have a higher percentage too....so would my Grandmother.

LOL - do you have any idea how bad the Arizona Cardinals offensive line is? There is a reason why he had a completion that averaged, as a rookie mind you, of 4.4 yards. It is because he had to dump the ball off before getting crushed.

What are your thoughts on that ordeal?

I don't really know. I think he did it, I'm not sure if it was the case of a 23 year old kid who was living a life he wasn't equipped to handle. Or it he was a narcissistic sociopath who doesn't really care.

Either way I feel worst for his daughter who will have this follow her through life. He will adapt to prison like all the lifers do and she will be the only one suffering the consequence of his actions.

LOL.

John Skelton - 5.6 ypa
Kevin Kolb - 6.4 ypa
Brian Hoyer - 6.2 ypa

Ryan lindley - 4.4 ypa

The point is, there is no way (aside from insanity) that anyone can say that Lindley is so much better than Tebow that it's worth caring about. He just isn't. Oh yes, and he wasn't available - Tebow was.

I just can't understand why you're so worked up about a third string QB unless there's something other than football motivating it.

I'm not worked up and frankly I could care less about Tebow. You on the other hand have been trying this back and forth thing regarding him so I thought that I would amuse you.

I'm grateful for your consideration.

No, but at least he has a higher completion percentage than Tebow:

Ryan Lindley Stats - Arizona Cardinals - ESPN

Once again demonstrating the sheer ignorance and folly of thinking that Comp % is a highly relevant stat.

Matt Ryan's Comp % is 5.6pts higher than Brady's, does that mean Ryan is a better QB ?

Blaine Gabbert's is 4.2 pts higher than Andrew Luck's. Guess that means Gabbert is a better QB as well.

It is relevant when it comes to Tebow. The benchmark for starting QB's is you have to have a passing completion percentage of no less than 60% from a efficiency perspective. This is well known as fact across the league.

Are there anomalies? Yes, Michael Vick is a guy with a completion percentage less than 60% but is certainly above 50% and runs the ball a lot better than Tebow.

If you think that passing completion percentage doesn't matter then go take a poll of the 32 head coaches and ask that question.

Thanks for playing and btw - in the next two to three years, yea, I think Ryan will probably be better than Brady.

There certainly are anamolies to that 60% number. From last year, Matthew Stafford, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco (didn't he win something?) and Jay Cutler to name but four. Cut them all!!!

Edit: Sam Bradford too to name but five....And Ryan Tannehill

I would note that only four are under 55%. Eli was indeed just under 60%.

Considering that 28 of the starting quarterbacks had a completiton rate over 55%, perhaps we should consider a completion rate under 50% as unacceptable for a quarterback.

Subtle difference there. If 55% is the cutoff for a starting QB, what about a 3rd string QB?

And if Andrew Luck is the greatest QB prospect since Peyton Manning and his percentage is only 8 points higher than Tebow whilst Christian Ponder is 8 points higher than Luck, do we consider that Ponder is an amazing QB or do we take this statistic with a huge pinch of salt.
