New Patriots Logo (Font)!

It looks like it was designed with a highschool metal band in mind.

GGggrrrrrrr! :rocker:

I like the old one, looks likes a Red Sox font..

Hell with it, just bring back the old old logo and font!;)

*when all else fails, go back to what you know

I was thinking it reminded me of a Seattle Mariners (that's baseball) logo ...

Luckily it's only going to affect the end zones, a place where no Patriot WR will dare to venture.

Boring design...don't like it

This has always been the best....

Meh, The font looks like the Lions. Otherwise OK.

As a designer, I never understood why fans don't embrace newer visual styles. From my perspective, that logo is beyond outdated. We all might as well live in the 1960s if that's the case.

I'm not saying I'm a big fan of the new logo font, but I'm already open to a style change. In fact, when Nike was introducing the new uniforms last year, I was hoping we could get a bit of a facelift too.

:agree:

On the one hand, I think tradition should at least be respected, but it shouldn't be sacrosanct.

OTOH, change for change's sake often leads to JEST-like ugliness. :p

They had to get a new font because Hernandez shot the old one

I like it. The only thing that could be better is if they replaced the blue jerseys with red ones, but kept everything else the same.

HEY! A guy can dream, can't he? :D

"Outdated" only exists in the minds of the designers and the marketers who try to impact the fan base in order to make more money by selling the new styles, and the newer designs have sucked.

Because new isn't always better, that's why. Change is good but it still has to look good.

Like the series Enterprise to the movie Enterprise... change and excellent change at that.

You've got to assume marketing strategy is behind things like this. But I just don't see anything "new" or "unique" enough about this "new design" that would get fans excited. It's a rather basic-looking font that any amateur designer could come up with. It's also a look you already see on MANY Pats shirts/hats at the pro shop, eBay, etc. At least the script logo is distinctive and somewhat unique for the NFL. I wish I could sit in on the skull sessions for things like this and understand how/why they reach their conclusions.

Lame.... Just Silver, Blue & Red PLEASE!!!

I don't care much about the logo,
As long as it's in the SUPERBOWL ENDZONE

Don't really like it. Old one was fine. But, guess it doesn't matter too much. Hopefully we get a new touchdown song with it.

Oh my god, that's not metal you Philistine! That's punk rock with a little rockabilly in there as well.

Metal is Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Burzum and dudes like that.

The big difference is that Metal is for 300 lb agoraphobic virgins with skin conditions and 40 year old dudes who wish it was the 80s so bad so they could undue all of the terrible choices that lead them to where they are now.

Punk rock is for ass holes.

I still think they've had the right artists, just the wrong songs.

U2: "Beautiful Day" instead of "Elevation"
Bon Jovi: "Have a Nice Day" instead of "This is Our House"
