The difference between the Ravens and the Patriots

Please elaborate how they are "worlds apart."

Lewis is a scumbag. Hernandez is a cold blooded execution style murderer, there is no comparison.

Patriot fans are embarassing themselves trying to compare this to lewis, Carruth is a much better analogy.

Embarrassing?

Whys that now?

Lewis could very well be a murderer, too. He just had the good sense to cover up his involvement by lying, getting rid of the most damming evidence, and testifying against his friends.

As a matter of fact, if Hernandez can't be proven to be the triggerman, the cases are very similar.

Because as heinous as it is to cover up for your friends involvement in a murder actually planning and executing a cold blooded murder is much much worse. You guys can pretend it is analogous all you want but you just look like idiots.

People can hate Ray Lewis all they want; if he played for another team, I'd probably hate the antics and the God stuff (glad that part's over, actually). But the law says he's not a murderer, or even a felon, so people can get over that or not.

Lewis settled with the families. Let's stop pretending that his involvement was limited to "covering up."

Carruth was cut too on December 3rd, but well after he was arrested Nov 26th 99, posted a $3M bond, then after his girlfriend died and he as charged with murder and he went on the lamb.

Panthers Stop Paying Carruth; Another Arrest Is Made in Case - Los Angeles Times

"Rae obviously has a lot of concerns to address," Coach George Seifert said. "We are not making a judgment on the case, but the situation makes it impossible for Rae to fulfill his contractual obligations."

Also Thursday night, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police made a fourth arrest in the attack on Adams, who was shot four times from a passing vehicle as she drove through a Charlotte, N.C., neighborhood. Stanley D. Abraham Jr., 19, of Charlotte, was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle--the same charges Carruth and the other two defendants face. No bond for Abraham was immediately set.

Seifert said Panther owner Jerry Richardson made the decision to stop paying Carruth after consulting with team officials as well as NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue and Gene Upshaw, head of the players' union. Seifert said Tagliabue and Upshaw supported Richardson's decision.

Team officials also said that if Carruth is exonerated, he would get whatever money the team owes him."

And maybe Tom Brady killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman, he's from California. Lewis obstructed justice in a murder, period, Hernandez was behind the execution and his friends were the accessories, regardless of who actually pulled the trigger it was done because Hernandez wanted it done, not because of his friends.

What Lewis did was dead wrong, period, but he was not the killer and anyone who watched that trial knows that. I am not going to bother arguing with someone who wants to create their own reality and pretend it is actual reality, you can make all the sh.t you want up but you just look foolish.

No, he pleaded down to obstruction in exchange for his testimony. There's a big difference. And, yet again, he settled with the families before the civil suits started. That doesn't scream, "I merely obstructed justice."

I watched the trial, Lewis wasn't guilty of murder but he was complicit in covering it up, which makes him a world class piece of sh.t. I was hoping that was all Hernandez was but in truth he is much much worse than that, and anyone who can't see that now is really really blind.

For the record, what Hernandez did is worse. But to pretend they're not even in the same ballpark (or that Lewis' involvement was clearly limited to obstruction) is what I think is ridiculous.

I think Lewis is a piece of crap but being present at a fight outside a bar and covering up for friends who killed a guy is simply not in the same ballpark as planning and executing a cold blooded premeditated murder, which is what Hernandez did. I gave him the benefit of the doubt but what I saw yesterday was flat out chilling and horrifying, it does not get any more cold blooded than what he did. Hernandez is in a ballpark with OJ and Carruth.

I'm sorry, but OJ was even more innocent than Lewis.

Jesus, now I'm mad that Lewis didn't get the chair for that stupid "fourth-down-and-life" quote.

You're mad about everything. Go watch a Super Bowl video or something.

What a lame thread. I’m so sick of people comparing Hernandez to Lewis. Hernandez is 100000% the scumsucking herpe Lewis ever was. Lewis was guilty...but he (IMO) was guilty of hanging around with the wrong crowd. Hernandez IS the WRONG CROWD. When all is said and done, we will look back on Hernandez as one of, if not THE worst piece of garbage in the history of sports. Right up there with Ray Careuth(sp). The guy is a sociopath.

I don’t know why it seems to make certain Pats fans feel better to compare every single black mark on our team/players to that of other teams/players.

We are by far the most defensive fan base in all of sports. It's so f'in annoying sometimes.
