I find this a little worrisome. I thought I read somewhere that he'd be signed by the end of the week. I know he's been at every OTA, but I'm worried that this seems to be taking a little too long to get done. He can't afford to lose time if he isn't signed by training camp. He might be the Pat's most important draftee this year.

For whatever reason, the earlier picks tend to take longer to sign, in part because they're wrangling over guarantees.

Clearly he's a dog faker.

I think it is still too early to be concerned about Dobson not being signed.

Even though he is not signed he is still able to participate in all activities up until training camp. Rookies don't report until July 18, so there is still plenty of time for the two sides to work out a deal.

Unlike years past, the rookie pay scale makes protracted holdouts by draft picks a thing of the past. That makes the differences in the money involved minimal, and negotiations limited to relatively minor details. Whereas rookies would often be useless for their entire first season due to missing all of their first training camp, the new CBA has done away with that problem.

Consider this: 37 players that were drafted ahead of Dobson are still unsigned. Last year the Patriots did not get all of their draft picks under contract until June 14. Dobson and his agent may be waiting to see what those drafted in his vicinity sign for; the two players selected just before him have not yet signed, nor has the one taken immediately after him.

While it would be comforting to get him under contract, I don't foresee this as being a problem. Even if I am wrong and Dobson and his agent are indeed playing hardball, it is still far too early to be sweat about his contract status.

The season is ruined!

I think he's disgruntled.

what???..he hasn't even been around long enough to be gruntled....I'm gonna wait this storm of uncertainty out....meanwhile,my mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives...

well then...time for a new nickname....I'll go first...Sobson...

and Aaron...if you're reading the board, THIS is the way it goes...don't break a fingernail...don't go to the beach in bikini swim shorts...don't wear the colors of any other team...in fact, don't do or say ANYTHING...just lock yourself in and don't come out unless it's gameday....and then, don't EVER drop even one pass...I can't begin to tell you the level of histrionic white noise that will ensue...

Before the new CBA, it would be shocking for any rookie to be signed by the second day in June. Most rookies were signed the beginning of July at the earliest back then. Most first and second rounders were signing their contracts as they were arriving for their physicals for rookie sign in day for training camp.

Now people are worried that a rookie isn't signed in early June? Wake me on July 27th and if he isn't signed I will care.

Very clearly he hates his coach.

Maybe because he is the next big thing from marshall and he knows it. But most likely, he doesnt't know how to sign a contract because he didn't go to rutgers.

don't be figuring out the boston media, felger, espn and the sheep that follow.

Yep, clearly disgruntled. Unhappy. Doesn't carry himself with confidence. Hates his coach. Made of glass. Brittle. Finesse. Feels disrespected. Can't separate. Can't rush the passer. Hands of stone. Playbook challenged.

Did I miss any?

Just a couple: he has an infected, broken forearm that will never heal and a herniated back disc which will never properly respond to any type of surgery. Is that it???

He's unhappy. I'm not sure why you keep trying to make it something that it clearly isn't. Sources close to the situation are beginning to say that Dobson is "furious" with Patriots brass.

He's learning how to rush the passer.

Edit: I missed PP's post, d%#*!@t.
