CSNNE speculates Fitz.

CSNNE speculated a possible trade for Fitz.

A possible trade?

Larry, not Ryan.

Re: CSNNE speculates Fitz.

I can see the patriots paying his big contract...

Not

Not

Could come reasonable, sure he's desperate to play with a sta QB, and actually win.

Re: CSNNE speculates Fitz.

Maybe that's the way Kraft makes it up to Brady for the time he signed a team friendly deal and they let Branch and Givens go.

In all seriousness, that would probably be one of the biggest trades in NFL history, and there's no conceivable way I could think of it happening.

Re: CSNNE speculates Fitz.

his 2013 cap hit is 10.25 million. that isn't too bad for a top 3 wr.

cut lloyd & save money, trade for fitz and restructure his contract, resign wes, talib, another cheap CB in FA and draft RT in 1st SS in 2nd

Re: CSNNE speculates Fitz.

Mallet, Lloyd, and a pick=Fitz.

No harm in asking

I once tried to trade Mallett, Lloyd and our first rounder for Fitz and Hoyer at the start of a Madden franchise and the "interest" meter for the Cardinals was very low. They promptly declined. I wonder if the real life Cards are as smart as their videogame counterparts.

I made the trade in a dream....no problem

Re: CSNNE speculates Fitz.

The Cardinals have one legitimate talent on Offense. Fitzgerald can do it all. Why would Arians move that sort of talent on when Arizona would be looking to establish an identity with their new vertical passing O?

The mighty Mallett, duh!

He likely wouldn't, not to mention that Fitzgerald would have to be willing to restructure his contract for way less money to come here. Not sure why he'd want to do that either...Oh yeah, he'd be fulfilling the dream that every NFL player has of coming to Foxborough, right?

I think that many of us could write articles much better than some of these speculation ones that aim to draw hits at the start of free agency.

Re: CSNNE speculates Fitz.

there is a rumor thread..but this idea or whoever came up with it is just stupid. Arz is going to get rid of the only guy on the team that is legit. Gets fans in the stands ect?

with $25 mill to spend...there are going to be lots of rumors with the pats in them

Re: CSNNE speculates Fitz.

Doesn't he have a no trade clause?

That's what I keep being told by a Ravens fan, anyway.

There are no "no trade clauses" in the NFL. The only leverage he would have to block a trade is if his trade was contingent on him restructuring his contract where he could refuse to restructure.

Re: CSNNE speculates Fitz.

Speculation according to the onion, Patriots to sign bigfoot. Can the Patriots afford the amount of twig and Berries that Bigfoot demands? We shall find out tomorrow

Re: CSNNE speculates Fitz.

I don't think this trade will ever happen, but a few things:

  • The Pats can easily absorb Fitzgerald's salary. He has already been paid a third of the $120 million which would not transfer to the Pats. His cap hit this year if traded to the Pats would be about $5.25 million.
  • The Pats would likely have to give up at least two high picks (maybe more) with one being a first rounder to get a trade. The Cards would only do this if trading Fitzgerald would help them rebuild in a big way. I think the Pats would have to give up a Carson Palmer type of compensation.
  • The Cards would get a significant cap hit this year if they trade him which could make a trade for Fitzgerald prohibited if not impossible to happen.
