Any word on Woody & Jones injuries?

On Twitter, per Giardi:

I'll admit, I never thought I'd be nervous about Hooman getting injury. Dude's gotten a lot better, better be okay. Otherwise, it'll be time to call Visante.

I'd rather we simply concede

Post game was reporting they thought Woody's thumb is broken and he's done.

You do remember that we lost Gronk in the AFCCG and he played hurt in the Superbowl......and we lost. Even if Gronk doesn't catch the ball, he takes pressure off of Welker and Hernandez. We are not as good a team without him, that is just pure foolishness.

Keep in mind we put up 34 points on the Niners and 41 and 42 points on the Texans without him. While there's no doubt that losing Gronk hurts us, it's not like he's an absolute necessity for our offense to work.

At the game, can tell you Woody came back to the bench and was throwing and catching hard passes. Looked fine and ready to play if needed. Jones limped off the field pretty badly and looked like he will not be healthy in a week.

This is the second year where gronk is gone. But you can only throw to so many guys a game, some will be covered.

True

And Gronk has been gone for weeks (except Jax) and the Pats have still moved the ball. IMO, this season hurts less than last season when Gronk 17 TDs and Welker were the offense.

The Pats just couldnt recover losing Gronk in the Super Bowl after he was such and intracal component in the teams offense.

Someone mentioned (Reiss maybe) last evening that he might be OK, bag of ice aside. No way he'd be tossing on the sidelines if something was broken. Maybe dislocation or just hammed it and wrist (sprain). And once Vereen got going so well they ran with it and he became the backup. Jones also was not booted when he left the premesis.

The big difference this season is the development of the young rb's and if Vereen can keep it up - especially as a receiving option - the Ravens will be hard pressed to keep up with him.

My reaction too. I expect Woody to be available--he looked uninjured catching and throwing. Just a guess, but I do not expect Jones to be ready Sun, but would expect him to be available in 3 weeks. Against Texans, pass rush was not strong with or without Jones though.

This team is cursed when it comes to health.

Absolutely.... bad karma for being cute with the sudden 'healing' of the whole roster for the game.

I know this is a stupid thing to say but I'm going to say it anyway. I continued playing in a football game in high school after I busted up my thumb. I even carried the ball. After the game I was in a cast for two months. Thumb totally broken, had bent all the way back as I was tackled and tried to brace the fall with my hand.

Thanks for sharing and no offense but did they xray you mid game? I'm sure he was and if it were broken there is no way he'd be testing it on the sidelines. Sounds more like he jammed it pretty well and under the circumstances (Vereen's backup performance) there was no need to force the issue given they'd already lost Gronk for the duration. I'd think if it was broken he'd have exited the facility with an air cast as opposed to an ice bag taped to his hand.

It has nothing to do with cute, its been going on for years.

Anyone know when the Jones thing happened? Jones skinned Brown alive on one play in the first half. Naturally, Jones ran past Schaub because Brown had him in a headlock.

I couldn't care less about the Woody injury with Vereen doing what he did.

If we beat BALT, I'd be happy if Jones can be ready in 3 weeks.

The Ravens were just going to hold him anyways and get away with it.

X-Ray during the game? Hah! This was the 80s. The other TE on the team once had a bone (above the knuckle) come through the skin, and he went back in there.

If he damaged his thumb, it won't heal quickly, even if it's only sprained. You lose all strength there, and the opponents will be able to strip if you're carrying with one hand. But this definitely isn't a IR type injury. Even with a cast, Woodhead will be somewhat effective carrying the ball with two hands. He has that compact style and can be counted on in a pinch. I'd rather have Woody with a bum-thumb in there than a great many other RBs.

Gronk gone for the playoffs. Second year in a row the kid couldn't stay on the field when we need him most.

Diving for a ball 7 yards out of bounds? I LOVE the effort, but you gotta be smarter than that, kid.

Just sayin'.

The recurring theme of this season has been rushing guys back too soon. Hernandez, Jones, and Gronk. Irresponsible from the medical staff.

Even more irresponsible is not wrapping Edelperson with bubble wrap before each game or not making Dowling live in a bubble.
