here's some of the more famous malaprops....

don't have a canary.(coronary)

you're just whistling gypsy (whisling Dixie)

"burned like a rented mule.."(beaten like)

"you Pats fans have channel vision.."(tunnel vision)

"don't lose site of the fact..."

"All the pre-game noise about descension in locker room, their offensive struggles, etc etc..."

"I sea what you're saying"

"well..for all intensive purposes"

I have a crashed hard drive with a Word file with about 200 of these gems from over the years...when I get the time to recover the data I'll put up all of them

Now that Chip Kelley has decided to remain at Oregon, lots of GM candidates will be taking a step back and rethinking their strategy and the JETS job will become a last resort for those still out of options.

Great place to be taking over between not having a franchise QB while having a franchise QB against the cap, having to retain Rex for at least a season, having no clue who might be stupid enough to join his now vacancy filled staff, and then facing a season ticket holder fan revolt as they scramble to unload their PSL's at pennies on the dollar and/or contemplate across the board defaults:

I have a feeling that a 6 win season is going to look awfully attractive to Green Beans in 2013.

Also, in some sad news for all those Jets fans who thought Gamble was by far the best GM candidate even though they mostly didn't know who the hell he was:

Jets Insider.com Forums - View Single Post - Tom Gamble and Jets moving on?

This could certainly be posturing about the Rooney rule, or it could be contract games, but the latest Jets savior seems to be in the wind.

If I am Gamble, I would rather have the Chargers' job. He gets to pick his head coach. He has Rivers over Sanchez and new head coach and adding a few weapons could return Rivers to his near the top of the QB heap status. Their cap situation is not nearly as bad and they have more talent in place. The media won't kill him in San Diego while he tries to build his program like the impatient NY media will.

this should make things all better ...:

Greg A. Bedard ?@GregABedard
Or exorcist “@MMehtaNYDN: Jets part ways with QBs coach Cavanaugh, per source. Will look for QB guru for Mark Sanchez.

I have no words

Scapegoating, a long held Jets tradition since 1969.

This wasn't really needed. Just firing Schottenheimer will fix their offense.

So this is the new QB coach of the NYJs?

worthy of a repost (while Alabama sonning ND)

Kate Upton ?@KateUpton
It's okay Notre Dame this happened to the Jets every week

The good news -- so far -- is that Sparano is still with the team.

heh...everyone is either leaving or has already left...Schottenheimer's fault? Alosi's fault? Tannenbaum's fault? Pettine's fault? soon, Sap-ra-oh-no's fault? The strength coach's fault? I mean,to use an analogy, if the Jets organization is a foot there's only one toe left to shoulder the responsibility...the BIG toe...

"Hey...jackazz...I'M the big toe around here!!

Fixed it for Mehta.
