That's what the Ravens have allowed in the last 6 games.

Let's look at these games:

15 - Against a bad Browns' offense that is 24th in scoring with 19.9 PPG.

20 - Against a bad Oakland team with Darren McFadden out who have the 25th ranked scoring offense at 19.1 PPG

10 - Against the Steelers with no Rothlisberger, No Antonio Brown, Leftwich at QB, and Issac Redman going out with a concussion

13 - Against San Diego which is the 17th ranked scoring offense of 22.5 PPG. So they were below the average by a bunch though.

23 - Against a Charlie Batch run Steelers' offense with no Roethlisberger, Mendenhal, or Mike Adams.

31 -Against the Redskins who average 26.4 PPG

My point stands. The Ravens' defense is bad and made to look better because they have faced one good offense in the last six games and a lot of teams with injuries to key players on offense. The Ravens' defense is bad.

I watched some of these games and the Ravens' defense was bad when I saw them, but the opposing offenses were just as bad or worse. It would be like saying the Jets' defense is getting really good because they have only allowed 16 points the last two games without acknowledging that they played the Cards and Jags.

I am expecting Manning to carve them up next week. Hopefully, Flacco and Rice can keep him off the field. That is the only way the Ravens win this game next week. Their defense isn't good enough to stop Manning.

I'm not saying it can't work. We see teams rally around the flag for all sorts of reasons, and we see teams just check out, so anything is possible here, and I'm sure that Ray Rice and Joe Flacco are ecstatic about this firing. I just wish we, as Patriots fans, weren't reduced to hoping that a first time O.C. with the emotions of a Vulcan was going to be the one to get that offense fixed and running smoothly in just a week.

So you're surmising that the RatBirds won't be "playing with emotion" after the change?

I wish the same thing, Deus. Regardless, I am still picking the Ravens to win at home next week.

No, it doesn't. Your opinion is your own, but the Ravens are the #10 scoring defense in the NFL despite having lost their best corner, their best pass rusher and their best linebacker for most of the season.

The Patriots have faced the Cardinals, the Jets twice, the Dolphins, the Titans and the Rams, and their defense is still six slots lower than the Ravens at present.

First, I never said the Pats' had a good defense nor said anything about the Pats' defense at all. Typical red herring from you. The Pats have no place in this discussion. I don't think the Pats have a great defense.

Second, the Ravens are 10th in scoring because in large part they are lucky that that they have faced teams without their key offensive weapons. Seriously, do you think they would be 10th if they faced a healthy Roethlisberger twice and Darren McFadden. Stats don't mean much unless you look at the actual games.

Third, I said that they lost a lot of key players on defense, but the defense wasn't all that good before they lost Webb and others.

I gave you two replies. I am done playing into arrogant " You opinion is stupid because I disagree with you" crap. Have fun getting the final word and showing me and the rest of us why we must bow to your brilliance.

Speaking for everyone else, we are blessed that you are here to look down at our pathetic opinions and rudely inform is why we are so stupid.

:ditto:

when are people going to realize that this is an open board and everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. every thread , I mean every single thread is skewed like this in recent memory.

Let it go already. You don't like what is being posted, fine, just move on and there is an ignore button for a good measure that Ian has provided.

It's not a red herring. It's a comparison to the team that we follow and is playing tonight. Given that Dean Pees, formerly of the Patriots, is the D.C. of that Ravens team, and the Ravens have the sort of wide disparity between yards allowed and Points allowed (24th to 10th v. 27th to 16th), I find the comparison to be quite apt.

The irony here is that when I made this same point to you, time and again, about McCourty's poor play early in the season, you dismissed it out of hand, so your hypocrisy is amusing. Also, McFadden is running at 3.4 ypc this year, so you can strike that one off your board.

I know what you wrote. The numbers don't support your argument, and the facts show that the Ravens have been shutting teams down much better of late, despite having those quality players out. You have an opinion, and that's fine. The current data doesn't support it , so your point doesn't stand as anything but that, which is what I wrote. You decided to go all sandy vag for nothing.

While all games played obviously count, the Ravens have had one outlier game, against the Texans, where they gave up 43 points (and 9 of those points were direct results of offensive screwups with a sack and a pick-6). Now, obviously you can't just toss out games. However, if you did pull that game as an outlier, the Ravens would be the #5 scoring defense in the NFL (19.17 ppg), despite missing Suggs, Webb and Lewis for much of the season.

Wow another pretty big one from the Harbaugh bros. Let's see how this goes

It's almost like a "Can you top this?" game:

- I'm going to bench my starting QB

- Well, I'm going to fire my OC

- Oh yeah, I'm gonna suit up for the next game.

I'm sorry, but I'm having a hard time with the concept that firing Cam Cameron can ever be a harmful thing to a football team. I'm willing, based on the below, to give Harbaugh the benefit of the doubt here.

A little off topic, but if you read Moneyball, one of the problems with these organizations is they keep re-shuffling the same old retreads from the good 'ole boy..."I used to play the game." network.

One more reason to like the way BB promotes and grows his own coaches instead of playing musical chairs with worn out skin bags.

Maybe they can hire Tony Sparano next year

I can't remember the last time the Ravens lost 2 consecutive games at home, that only makes the Broncos work cut out for them next weekend

Actually, I am looking at it the other way. Maybe the Jets will hire Cameron. Cameron seems to fit into the vanilla, conservative, stupid style of offensive play calling that the Jets seem to like.

Damn it! Cameron is one of the most unimaginative OCs in the league. By playoff time, their offense could be significantly better.

Granted watching Caldwell on the sidelines as the HC of the Colts, I wonder if he even watches the game while standing there.

My problem with Cameron was not so much with his imagination, as it is with his focus. He consistently force fed Flacco deep play calls, and consistently (criminally?) neglected his best player (Ray Rice).

If Caldwell re-emphasizes the run and Rice, I think this could make Baltimore a significantly better team for the stretch run. It may not erase their defensive issues, but it will cloak them somewhat through better ball control.

FWIW, Marshal Yanda may be out multiple weeks, and even before the injury I wouldn't expect them to become the road graders they were a couple of years ago...But I do expect them to put together game plans that take better advantage of their personnel.

What in the blue hell is he talking about in the first clip lol I wouldn't want that guy delivering my newspaper let alone calling my offensive plays.

See post #7 above. :eat3:

Now we can be treated to the many emotions of Caldwell again!

It makes sense for the Ravens. Ray Rice > Joe Flacco. Cam Cameron in his ultimate wisdom believed Joe Flacco > Ray Rice.

We should make up a song about it:

Can, can, can you can the canned Cam Cameron,
the canned Cam Cameron
the canned Cam Cameron
the canned Cam Cameron
Can, can, can you can the canned Cam Cameron
the canned Cam Cameron today!

Or something like that.
