You're going to judge the Big 10 ridiculously overrated off a couple games?
Let's look at the first round draft choices out of both leagues the last few years. I'll bold the guys that started and played decently, and mark the busts in red. I'll leave the others blank. Some, like Eli Manning, are difficult, because he's definitely not performing up to his rank, and I think if he had a different last name, he might not even be starting. He might already be labeled a Heath Schuler type bust. Dewayne Robertson may be considered a bust because of his position and cost, but he's an alright player so I left him be. With Michael Clayton, I don't know what to do with him. Great rookie year, and now he doesn't even start. 30 catches is not where I want my 3rd year 1st round draft choice to be, so I left him as a JAG.
Big 10:
1. AJ Hawk
2. Donte Whitner
3. Chad Greenway IR
4. Bobby Carpenter
5. Tamba Hali
6. Lawrence Maroney
7. Santonio Holmes
8. Nick Mangold
9. Braylon Edwards
10. Erasmus James IR
11. Luis Castillo
12. Marlin Jackson
13. Roberty Gallery
14. Lee Evans
15. Will Smith
16. Chris Perry IR
17. Chris Gamble
18. Michael Jenkins
19. Carlos Rogers
20. Jimmy Kennedy
21. Michael Haynes
22. Bryant Johnson
23. Dallas Clark
24. Larry Johnson
25. Eric Steinbach
Big 10 has 16 contributors, 4 JAGs, 3 on IR, 2 Busts
SEC:
1. Jay Cutler
2. Jason Allen
3. Joseph Addai
4. Johnathan Joseph
5. Ronnie Brown
6. Carnell Williams
7. Troy Williamson
8. Carlos Rogers
9. Thomas Davis
10. David Pollack IR CAREER OVER
11. Marcus Spears
12. Matt Jones
13. Jason Campbell
14. Chris Spencer
15. Eli Manning
16. Dunta Robinson
17. Shawn Andrews
18. Michael Clayton
19. Ahmad Carroll
20. Ben Watson
21. Dewayne Robertson
22. Johnathan Sullivan
23. George Foster
24. Rex Grossman
SEC has 12 contributors, 9 JAGs, 1 on IR-Career Over, which means the pick was a bust, and 2 outright busts.
The last several years, I think the two leagues are relatively even with an equal amount of talent coming out of both leagues.
The premise is sound with this post, but I can't really agree with some of your choices of player contribution. Disagreements are on:
* Carpenter was inactive for much of the early season and is closer to a bust than contributor. JAG is the only choice here.
* Gallery starts by default. He is quite terrible. B.U.S.T is the only choice.
* Cutler is better than you give him credit for. Sure Jake the Snake was playing poor, but he is a contributor and that is why he started at the end.
* I think Campbell will be good, but I can see why you labeled him as a JAG.
* I suppose I could be factoring in the fact that he was a #4 pick, but Robertson is a JAG.
Again, I see the point, but I just had a few disagreements.
