What's Your Dream Draft?

I would say a #4 and two #6s based on that. I forget if we lost anyone else, I know McGinest doesn't count.

We lost Givens, Ashworth, Vinitieri, T Dwight, A Davis, & Fuaria. We signed Tebucky back & Mel Mitchell who never played. I based the 3, 5 & 7 on our losses in 2005 (when we gained those picks) of Compton, B Hamilton, Washington, & Woody, while signing only Traylor. I might be off, as year to year it varies based on the losses other teams have (and the fact that they only give up 32 comp picks/ year), but not enough for you guys to get all snarky about. Get a life!

Edit: we also added R Caldwell.

2 Chancey Stuckey WR -Clemson
3 Prescott Burgess ( to play ILB) -Michigan
4. Marvin White S -TCU
4(comp). Chris Davis WR -FSU
5(comp). Calvin Bannister CB -Hampton
6. Germaine Race RB _Pitt. State
6(Comp). Herbert Taylor OT -TCU
7. Keith Jackson DT- Arkansas

This draft would make my day, and I think the pick placement is realistic for the most part

Paul Poz is my guy, but if we're dreaming I think we could grab him in the 2nd round and grab a safety in the 1st round or OLB

I think Poz will go in the upper third of the second round so you'd half to trade up to get him.

1a - OLB Quentin Moses
1b - CB Aaron Ross
2 - S John Wendling
3 - WR Jason Hill
4 - ILB Zak DeOssie
4c - CB Ryan Smith

Balances out the offense-heavy draft last year...

A couple things from this thread:

1. Pozluszny did not play well last season. He got recognized based on name alone. I don't see him as a great pro. Having watched him for a few years, I'd be disappointed if that was the pick.

2. Leon Hall was not on Jarrett one on one, and Morgan Trent was the UM corner oft burned by USC. Hall did all he could against OSU as well. He certainly wasn't "burned."

3. Woodley should be a late first rounder. I joke about trading the draft because he's a friend, would be a great "Willie McGinest", and I could continue to produce my Woodley shirts. Woodley will be a force in the pros.

4. Dave Harris was a guy who just made plays. Wasn't projected as a star, but always was around the ball. He was good in coverage, and may be the most missed player on our defense next year, which is saying something when you lose the Lombardi winnner (Woodley), best CB in the game (Hall) and a top 10 pick from your line (Alan Branch). I would like Harris if available in the second round at our pick. A guy I think would be a better fit would be Prescott Burgess, who we could pickup later. Burgess was just finally learning the LB position (we wasted a redshirt when he was a freshman, converting from S in HS) last year, and is fantastic in coverage and very athletic. This staff would be perfect to work with him.

hes way too small..he measured in @ 227 or 228 @ Senior bowl..uh

Well, another 5-10 pounds on him and that basically Lofa Tatupu, right? Don't get me wrong, he is smallish, but his combo of speed and some fierce hitting ability make him worthwhile as maybe a 2nd or 3rd rounder. (I'm not sure where he's projected). By the way just looked and Posluszny (who I didn't see enough of to give an opinion) is only listed at 230 as well.

The only name I recognize is Poluzny, and IIRC, someone said something negative about him sometime on here.

howd he look like a fool? he guarded him like 5 times all game and let up 1 catch to Jarrett. i hate how people blame a player b/c thats what they heard of assume

I didn't hear it, I saw it. Leon Hall is overrated. No Big 10 players please.

Trent guarded Dwayne Jarrett most of the game. Not to say that Hall had a good game, but much of Trent's inability to cover Jarrett has been attributed to Hall.

Where does Quentin Moses land on the tightness scale?

Leon Hall isnt really overrated..but as a prospect in NFL he might be. His speed doesnt stand out nor does his athletism..he'll get beat by NFL WRs with speed and he wont be much more than a pretty good #2 CB. His measurables dont stand out and hes a man to man guy but with guys like Smith, Johnson, Branch, Moss, etc etc, he wont hold their jock strap.

i like him as a college player..very good but NFL is a much faster game and im not convinced he'll hold it down really or be great player. For a guy in round 1, you would probably expect him to play very well against some of the best WRs once you mature as a player but he would make a better FS imo

I haven't exactly done my late round research or anything yet, but I certainly would LOVE to see Reggie Nelson drafted by us in the first round. He flies around the field, and he is an Urban Meyer product, who is a close friend of BB.

Leon Hall can start at Cb and play well his rookie year for 75% of the teams in the NFL. That is the definition of a 1st rd corner back. Will he become an all-pro? Probably not. But neither did Deangelo Hall. Or Dunta Robinson. He is fast enough, disciplined, mentally tough, a team player, savvy and used to the big stage against top competition. If the rest of the league feels he's overrated and he drops to #24, I'd taken him on the Pats without hesitation.

Same here. The knocks against Hall sound a lot like the phrases used once against a college kid named Ty Law.

What did he do that didn't impress you? He had the best career of a LB in Penn State history. Jack Ham called him the greatest ever, which is saying a lot, obviously.

When I watched him, it seemed like he was easily the best player on the field each and every week.

You've got to be kidding me. If that's what you "saw", then you must've either been confused, and thought that Hall wears #14, or don't understand what "zone" means. Hall is the most fundamentally sound corner I've seen in college. He's not spectacular, so he must be overrated. But I'll take the guy who plays his man perfectly, and makes the play over the guy who is flashy, and gambles on big plays.

This is silly, anyways. Hall is a top 10-13 pick.
