We all know the 10 players or so who will be gone and all the underclassman coming out. There should be 2/3 players that can MAKE A IMPACT for us next year. Who do you hope BB grabs in the 1st?
I am hoping for LB and either SS/CB but am betting we take a
TE and either a DB or DL project we turn into a LB.
My wish wish is Willis at LB.
Here's my thoughts as of right now.
ILB
Number 1 on my wish list is Willis, but given the lack of depth at ILB in the draft, I think he'll be gone well before pick No. 24. I think he would make an instant impact for us on defense next year. I'm not sure what to make of Poslusny or Siler or any of the other ILB prospects.
OLB
I'm starting to become intrigued with DE Jarvis Moss. I'm thinking that if he projects well in a conversion to OLB, he might be an excellent value with the 24th or 28th pick.
S
Nelson and Landry will be off the board early. I hear mixed reviews on Griffin and I'm not sure if he would be worthy of a round 1 pick. Is Merriwether a Patriots type of player? Is he a difference maker worthy of a round 1 pick? I don't know.
WR
The reports from the senior bowl are that Bowe is the real deal. If he falls in our lap at the 24th pick, he just may be the BPA and we should take him.
I am really really high on Anthony Gonzalez. He was overshadowed by Tedd Gin at OU, but I think this guy would be a perfect fit for the Pats. He's got speed, hands, route running ability and top notch smarts. He'll be gone early in round 2. I say the pats take him with the 28th pick.
CB
Personally, I'm happy with Samuel and Hobbs. If the BPA in Round 1 or 2 is a CB, so be it. Because I don't know the answer, I ask your opinion, who in the draft (who would be available) would be an instant upgrade for us at CB assuming we retain Samuel and Hobbs?
OL
We're all set here as far as I'm concerned
DL
There will be no impact players available when we draft
