All power rankings have ATL on top..i agree they are good..but i am still suspicious of their D...i still think Houston is #1 IMO

Green Bay or Houston right now. The Steelers in a few weeks probably.

Patriots

why?

Because they are the MOTHER FU&KIN Patriots!

I have a hard time putting Atlanta at number 1. Their games vs Oakland and Carolina pretty much came down to the last play. You think Eli has clutch luck? Watch the end of those two games.

I think the Jets have the rest of the league right where they want them.

SB bound for the 4th consecutive year.

Part of the reason i put Houston at #1

I would put the Giants at number 1. They've got one of the better records in the league, they play in the tougher of the two conferences, and they're the reigning champions. I'd have to see Atlanta play one of the top teams and win before I could crown them. The Bears and Texans would both be up there as well.

Who knows? I have Atlanta at the top of my Sweet 16, and obviously they're good, but that doesn't mean I think they're necessarily the best team.

I will say this: I think if this Patriots team plays up to its capabilities, they would beat anyone, including the Giants. One of these days they're going to play that team in a game where every frickin' bounce doesn't go the Giants' way.

falcons texans or giants

let's see if the falcons play the giants again and don't only score 2 points....

Atlanta's strength of schdele has been .360 and the rest of their games is only .316 as it stands right. The only team of note they'll play is the Giants. I'd take the Giants and Houston as it stands right now but the halfway championship means squat.

Steelers in a few weeks probably?!? The beat on a mediocre Redskins and get by rapidly declining Bengals team and now they are contenders for the best team in the league? I would put them at about 10 right now and I don't see them getting much higher with the Giants this weekend and Baltimore twice (although they are free falling with their defense falling apart).

I would say the Giants are the best right this second.

Giants, probably. Then some combination of Texans, 49ers, Falcons.

I think there can be only 2 in consideration....as of week 8 and a LOT can change after that..

Texas and the Niners. They have to be at the top over everyone one's list.

After that come the Giants and Falcons, because they can be just as easily be 5-3 as what they are. The gift the Cowboys just gave the Giants is a perfect example. They literally won that game by the width of 2 fingers, and should've and could've been lost that game a half dozen other times. It was gift, just like the Skin's game was. A lot of good things going right for the Giants and Falcons way right now. They are good, but not as good as either the Niners and Texans are....right now.

After that you can put the Pats anywhere within into a group of the Bears, Ravens, and Denver and I'll be fine. 5-8 That's were the Pats belong right now

Giants until proven otherwise.

As much as it kills me to admit, I think that it's the Giants. They put a beating on a good SF team.

you can't say the niners are ahead of NYG

nyg destroyed sf in their own house.......that was a massacre

You ARE aware that the Giants smacked the 49ers around in their own house, right?

I have to agree with Skip Baseless

Man, this is just so difficult these days. My inclination is to go with Houston, but the Packers, Niners, Giants, Falcons, Broncos and Pats have all had their share of moments looking completely dominant and yet vulnerable. I posted in the "Brady stats" thread about how close some of the top QBs are playing right now.

I don't see a clear-cut #1 and I'd rather just throw all 7 teams up there right now. Although if I had to tier it a bit, I might go:

(in any order within tier):

Texans
Packers
Niners

Pats
Broncos
Falcons
Giants

I say the Patriots. I think they have clearly shown what they have and are capable of they just came up short in a few instances. If you are one of the few teams competing right now who would you rather face I dont think anyone wants anything to do with this offense and Brady.

If I am the 49ers for example I would much rather face Atl, Giants, or Houston before NE.
