Good God Almighty, what a kiss of death. I wish he'd said we are the worst.

Skip being Skip.

The analogy would be starting a Christian post for peace with the name Adolf Hitler.

I wouldn't go this far, but I think they're a clear #2 with the potential to knock off the Texans later this season

Although crowning anyone the best team in the AFC is not really setting the bar very high right now, I think Bayless is off his rocker to put anyone ahead of the Texans at this point. Granted, I think Bayless is always off his rocker.

I don't think the Texans are nearly as good as people give them credit for, but at this point they have to be #1. I would rank the Pats #2 right now.

Skip got noticed

Skip wins

He has been on our nuts all year, but he's louder now because it's a more contrarian view and he loves to seem outlandish.

He left out Tebow?

#2? Yes.

#1? We'll find out in a few weeks.

Houston is best in the AFC and right now I don't think it's close

He's covering his ass in case they hit their stride later on this season and do start looking like the team we all thought they'd be. Then he can turn around and say, "Look! I called it!".

Texans are 6-1, gotta respect the record here. But I do believe the Patriots are better than the Ravens, they almost beat the Ravens in their house (if not for a horrible defense) and with an inconsistent Flacco and declining defense (especially on the run) that only leaves Houston and New England as the top contenders in the AFC. Patriots only lose 3 games by 4 combined points!!! Once they get their late game offense/big play defense issues fixed, they will be right there at the end in New Orleans.

We see this every year--when all is said and done, you look back and it turns out the Texans were vastly overrated. Maybe this is the year the buck the trend and show that they aren't perennial chokers, but I have a hard time seeing Schaub ever leading them to the promised land, regardless of how good their defense is. I also think that, much like teams like the Giants have found ways to stop BB's offenses when it counts the most, the same holds true with Wade Phillips' defenses--the right team can break them down. It should be a pick 'em type game by the time we play them, but I say we beat them like a drum in the December cold.

I agree with the earlier post - this is just Bayless saying something incendiary to get ratings.

I think the Pats have the potential to win the AFC again, but right now they're not the best team. That could change in the 2nd half of the season.

We see this every year? How many years have the Texans been major contenders?

If they didn't lose Schaub last year, there is an excellent chance they would have made the SB. Prior to that, they weren't really in the mix on the "elite" conversation.

I don't take anything this clown says seriously, hes the worst

He called it in the preseason and he's not backing off of it. He's stubborn but so am I. I'm not dismissing the Pats yet. They have the personnel on the offense to do it with a defense that has still has some time to gel. Bayless won't get off of Tebow's bandwagon so his endorsement doesn't carry a lot of weight....but that does not mean that he can't be be right about the Pats.

Did the league contract and get rid of the Texans while I was napping?

i think we can beat any team in the league right now, even the texans...so in that sense yes, NE is #1

Based on record and style points you have to give it to the Texans. If we were playing them this week, at home or on the road I would pick the Patriots to win the game. The only time the texans saw an offense as talented as ours they got embarrassed thoroughly. Pats win 31-27.
