You're arguing a point nobody's disagreeing with. We're pointing out, and bemoaning, the sad reality that the reason he was able to have that good game is because he was playing against the Little Blind Sisters Of The Poor.

You may not disagree but it didn't stop you from making a bunch of excuses as to why Russel Wilson had a good game and apparently shouldn't have. Although, I'm not really disapproving with any of those "excuses". I know the situation and it more than likely did attribute to the success that Wilson had. Plus, there's a voice in the back of my head that likes to tell me that the Pats Secondary isn't as bad as everyone says. I TRY to ignore that voice.

I don't understand the craving for offensive fireworks every game. I actually really enjoy these defensive games.

If you enjoy defensive games, couldn't be a worse time to be a Pats fan because you ain't gettin any with these secondary cruds.

1.) They are reasons, not excuses, and I never said Wilson shouldn't have had a good game. Note this post of mine from before the game even began (I'll quote the summation/end):

If I were a Seahawks fan, I'd be pinning my hopes on a breakout passing game by young Mr. Wilson. Until the Patriots prove that they can slow down an opponent's passing attack, there's really no reason for teams to do anything else.

I certainly wasn't alone in looking at Wilson having a big game as a possibility.

2.) The Patriots pass defense is every bit as bad as many people are saying it is. The numbers bear it out.

3.) Russell Wilson's yardage numbers this season:

139
133
111
140
212
283 - vs. Patriots
122

4.) Russell Wilson's TD numbers this season:

1
1
2
0
1
3 - vs Patriots
0

5.) Russell Wilson also set season/career highs in QB rating and yards per attempt against the Patriots, while the Seahawks set their season high for points scored against the Patriots.

6.) Wilson had only 16 completions against the Patriots, meaning he averaged a whopping 18.3 yards per completion.

7.) The hope should be for improvement, not for fooling ourselves with some Soviet-style propaganda initiative about the secondary being better than it is.

Would people now start to really appreciate what the O did last weekend in the first half? They destroyed this D. It's really frightening what this O can do when Brady is in surgery mode.

It was 17-10 at half time (?)

I don't care how bad our secondary is, why can't people just admit Russel Wilson had a good game last Sunday?

He did play a good game. Ask our safeties since they watched him instead of actively participating.

beat slam smash crunch....over and over ...excruciating nails through the palms as Patsfans wails and moans over a 1 point loss on the road to an NFC team...like this is the biggest the worst the most humiliating loss EVER!!! it's friggin' Jet week and all anyone wants to do is cry about Seattle???The loss means SQUAT...the Pats are tied for first and playing for the lead the division..."no no no!!!! no talking about that...let's just bash and bash and bash and bash over and over and over about this HUGE LOSS!!"..this is actually WORSE than the 31-0 Buffalo apocalypse from years ago....give it a friggin' break already...

I just don't understand how they can be this bad for this long, especially when it's a Belichick coached defense.

What does it matter how long he's coached? The game isn't the same as it was in the 70s, heck in the freaking late 2000s.

Its hard to get a good defense when you've been drafting 28-32 for the past 12 years. The Seahawks and niners drafted in the top 10 from like 2003 to 2009

Frank Gore really showed up big on a some what national game. If this guy could put together back to back seasons not hurt he would have amazing stats. There are reports of bruised ribs, that could be a set back for him this year.

From what i saw of teh game if Golden tate and other Seahawk recievers had actually caught some perfectly thrown balls the hawks would have won this game by at least 2 touchdowns.

As much as I appreciate the effort, you didn't have to explain it all to me. I understand how much the secondary Blows. I recall Wilson scrambling in the pocket avoiding hits from our "good" front 7 and then chucking the ball down field. Statistics don't mean everything. Just by watching the game anyone could see that Wilson played very well for a rookie. You say that noone disagrees but you keep replying back to me with long winded responses of the same stuff.

I just responded to your arguments. I took you as being serious. I didn't know you were trolling.

My mistake.

Anyone who put money on the Seahawks in this game is crazy. No way they were going to win. They already won their Super Bowl on 4 days ago.
I'd say anyone who put money on Seattle and took the 7 1/2 is feeling pretty smart this morning. A lot of money exchanged hands when San Fran declined that final penalty.

I remember last year when there was only a handful of us complaining about the defense, specifically the secondary. It would seem the rest of you finally got the memo.

My issue was mistakenly taking you seriously. It won't happen again.

I think you're only realizing that your argument was pointless against what I was saying.

Me: Wilson had a good game.

you: Secondary sucks

Me: Yeah I know, I'm just saying Wilson had a good game.

You: *A ton of stats* He was playing against the little blind sisters of the poor.

Me: Sure, but Wilson clearly played well if you watched the game. Secondary definitely sucks.

You: didn't know you were just trolling me, my bad.

Me: :bricks:

This season I'm not blaming the defense. The Patriots are the fifth meanest defense in the NFL this regular season giving up 27.36 ppg. For me this is the most important number and second only to the big W. Its up to your offense to outscore the opposition if you are one of the meanest teams in the league. In two of the three losses to date the Patriots failed to score 25 points. Interestingly the Patriots offense currently lies 26th in scoring at this stage of the season.

There is a few things I don't like such as the bend but don't break mentality they seem to have when they are ahead late in games. I think that is a coaching/playcalling issue.

The current Patriots team seems to have an issue on both sides of the ball in the clutch. The loss to Seahawks was as much(if not more) on the offense as the defense. I don't doubt that the hit that Brady took played a bit part in that even if he doesn't admit it.

The Patriots are the #1 scoring offense in the NFL.
