There's a whole lot to like about Willis from a size, attitude, toughness, leadership standpoint. Only negative I can find is that he looks a bit stiff, not the ideal fluid, flexible athlete, which makes me wonder if he has the quickness to cover an NFL TE/RB, a la Lance Briggs. I don't mean straight line speed, he'll run a 4.6. Willis is almost exactly Briggs' size when Lance came out in 2003. The reason we would draft Willis in rd 1, at his size, is for the Will ILB, and so his coverage ability is crucial... Maybe I'm used to seeing Bruschi, who is extremely agile and flexible. Willis' shuttle and 3 cone drill numbers should indicate his agility and quickness. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong...
IMHO top 3 ILB prospects are now Willis, Harris and Siler. All 3 have the necessary violence and leadership qualities to thrive at ILB. The question is are they worth a 1st rd pick.
