Its hard to tell from that clip, but I'm not certain he hit him in the head, or with the head.
How hard the hit is doesn't determine whether it is legal.

He hits him slightly late, leads with his helmet, hits high and imo makes helmet to helmet contact. It's completely reckless even if he didn't make head contact (which I'm 90% sure he did).

Peyton on the verge of losing 2 straight....a Rare thing.

Let's hope Brady doesn't tie Manning tonight.

i hate to defend denver but that clip makes it look like the denver guy tried to hold up and matt schaub's helmet didn't seem to be on tight enough

and i hate denver....

look at how he straightens up and spears his head forward a split second before contact, that's like the definition of what the NFL do not want on a QB. I must be living in an alternate universe that people see that as anything but the dirtiest hit so far this year.

Someone follow Peter Queen on twitter? i wonder what he must be saying right Now, Yesterday he was salivating that Peyton would be the MVP this year and they would defeat the texans easily

That is no way a late hit.
If he hits him in the head, its illegal.
It is not illegal because he hit him hard and it could have resulted in injury.
Reckless? The defender is allowed to hit as hard as he is capable of. He just cannot lead with the head, or hit in the head.

I see right shoulder/chest contact, not helmet

He clearly leads with the crown of his helmet.. he even puts his arms down. He's not attempting a form tackle here. There is shoulder to shoulder contact but it's at the same time as his helmet smashes into Shaub's lower facemask. His intentions look pretty clear to me.

texans and falcons look like the class of their respective conferences right now

i can also brush aside sf's foible in minnesota, because they'vve still got so much talent

so yeah , right now i'd say atl texans sf, and maybe zona next?

is this atl game the fastest NFL game ever? its a whole Q ahead of the other games

What? It would be dirty if he lowered his head. It would be dirty if he hit him in the head. Granted, its hard to tell from that view, but if he led with his shoulder/chest, and hit him in the shoulder pads, there is nothing wrong.
You seem to think the fact that he hit him so hard the helmet came off means something.

I saw the replay on sunday ticket. It was quite clearly head to head. How would u explain the helmet flying off shaub's head? btw, shaub's a stud.

debatable.

he did.

I don't see that argument anywhere.

He did both.

I began the discussion with the qualifier that it is hard to tell from the speed of the clip you posted and the angle, and that if the contact was to the head, it is illegal.
You can't really argue I am wrong by saying the contact was to the head.

he did lower the helmet, but i'd have to see that the helmet hit the facemask

cause it looks like the helmet hits the chest

i have to see a better angle

It's just incredible the amount of times Texans defenders have got their hands on one of Manning's passes, and as I'm typing it happens again!

He could easily have 4/5 INT's in this game.

shoulda been a peyton int there

You can easily dislodge the helmet with a hard hit to the chest.
Like I said, the clip posted here is unclear. If the contact was to the head it is illegal, if not, it is fine.

As Shaub goes so do the Texans

Some may not like to hear it,but if Schaub would have remained healthy into The 2011 playoffs,The Pats are probably not the AFC representative.

Arguably the Texans were the best team last year and with some health, they are right now.

I compare the 2011 Texans with the 2008 Patriots....they were shafted by losing thier starting QB,when in reality they were the best team.
