The new IR rule states that you have to be on the original 53 man roster, and then after Sept.4 he could have been designated as the special candidate.
He won't be able to come back this yr.
ok
Hey what ever you have to so you keep this kid on the roster, I rem seeing footage of him on the Gators and he really impressed me.
I was thinking, man, this kid runs just like Tony Dorsett. Dorsetts speed was deceptive because he was a big guy and everyone wore the big shoulder pads back then.
But Dorsett had full foresight and vision of the field, and was a master of angles. Its almost like Tony knew exactly what each defensive player was capable of, and were he would be in 2 seconds. He could cut, slow, turn, burst, plant to get the angle he wanted to use his speed to finish them off, and he never looked back, like this kid, until he knew the run was done. Far to many RB's make that mistake.
Dorsett doesn't have the complete skill set W.Payton had, but he was a better receiver.
I really see this in Demps. This kid sees everything and uses angles as well as dorsett did. One of the hardest things as a RB is the sweep. People think its the inside run but its not. Most of the time things are so confusing for the defense, that you just need to hit a simple open strait lane and they cant get to you until you've made 4 yards up the gut.
sweeps are different ,especially for guys like Demps with speed. By the time he reaches the LOS hes out run his blockers and is alone. Now he has to beat defenders on angles with out slowing down. You slow down like Bush juking all day your dead.
You get hit from 3 angles on a sweep and the field is cut in 1/2 . Essentially your forced to go forward toward them, and they are waiting for you, lol.
Watch the way Demps uses angles on defenders on a sweep play, and then Dorsett. Its almost eerily similar. Both know exactly were they are, see the field, use the angles ( I can only descried angles to people by saying its similar to surfing ). If Demps can catch like Dorsett. I would think you don't have a good RB on your hands , you have a great RB on your hands.

wouldn't surprise me if BB saw this, but is just trying to ponder what he has, not willing to risk the boat on and emotional response. Thats my take But might have been smart to make him a kick off returner.
