Playing right now on ESPN vs Ohio U.

On one hand,I Hope that O'Brien succeeds....BUT

I hate Penn State with a passion and don't really care.

Go Bobcats, Penn State football should have been shut down.

We are all entitled to our opinions but I am not going to wish for the downfall of a football program that is vital to maintaining an economy of an entire region just because of the transgressions of one man and the negligence of others.

The rise of Penn State from the ashes (the Freeh Report is hardly basis to destroy a program) under BOB's direction would be a great story, IMHO.

If a region is reliant on a college football program for its maintaining it economy, then perhaps the people of that region have some changes to make in their lives.

I'm rooting for Penn State because BOB seems like an honest, hardworking person and the players who stayed are innocent. As PF13 wrote, the perps are gone and their names are damaged forever.

I'm not going to fault the players and staff that are currently on the field for the mistakes of the past.

Yup - Penn State will always now have a taint - but no reason to drop any hate on the current kids or O'Brien.

This went way beyond the football program - it was the university - the people in charge of the institution itself that let abuse take place.

Even shutting down the entire university would never right the wrong.

BooB took Brady's snap call "Alpha go" to Penn St.

Anyways. Go Bobcats.

Nothing against the players, BOB or the rest of the coaching staff but the cultists in the stands and around Happy Valley who apologized for and still support Joe Paterno are the reason why I don't want this team to win a single game this year.

BooB loses his first game.

This is very true but I wish there was a way to not root against those guys while hoping that all the morons who rioted in favor of JoePa don't see their team win a game for the next 50 years.

Penn st needs a lot of work. That one td should of been intercepted. Horrible play by the defense.

The best but hardest thing to do is forgive. :)

Edit: Temple Owl here. I really hope Temple gives a beat down of epic proportion on Sept 22. But unlikely. One can hope. :)

Why was he hired? I never understood that.

He wasn't a great offensive co-ordinator. Period. I'd go as far as to say he was a MEDIOCRE OC. I mean I know our forums can get a little bombastic, but nearly everyy week you would see dozens of people saying how ***** he was... and there was def a fair amount of truth to a lot of those claims.

I wasn't the biggest BOB fan but I definitely think he was much better than mediocre with potential to be great. Each year, he improved in some way. That said, I still agree with you about his hire being questionable but for different reasons I guess. Personally, I wouldn't hire any coach from the BB tree as HC under any circumstance after seeing Weis/Crennel/Mangina/JMD in action.

It wasn't just because of the transgressions of one man and the negligence of others now was it PittPatriot? It was the systematic cover up of a heinous sexual predator against children by those in positions of power over "bad PR". IMO PSU got off lightly. If it were up to me PSU would and should have been hammered harder than SMU.

I sympathise with BOB and the football team but not the institution.

Come on. We're patriot fans. We hold the current raiders responsible for a preseason injury in 1978.

I'm not going to fault the players and staff that are currently on the field for the mistakes of the past.

Has a habit of blowing early leads. Did not expect any more of him...
