Jets vs Bengals preseason game

Every other page of their game thread has a post about schotty, haha.

I dunno why they were expecting much from the first preseason game. I did notice a bit less stupid motions pre snap, though.

Well the general feeling is there is so much talent on the Jets' O that all it takes is a hard-nosed, competent guy like Sparano to see all that talent and unleash Sanchez/the dragon on the NFL.

Ok, I rewatched the first quarter again just to see if I was unfair about Coples, but I was right that he really didn't do much of anything vs. the first string and the only time he was really noticeable was when he got smoked by BJGE on the sidelines.

If Coples was pulled after the first quarter like Jones was last night, Jets fans would be killing him. I am sure if Jones played well into the second half, he would have absolutely dominated the Saints' second stringers like Coples did tonight.
Reading the game thread on JI Coples sounds like the second coming of Reggie White

I have to admit that I was happily pulling for BJGE and Tate during that game. The catch that Tate made along the sidelines was wicked nice, except for all that being out of bounds and stuff.

But still, it was nice to see Sanchez get pounded and the JESTS get pushed around, even if it was only a pre-season game.

Good vibes to the Bengals 1st stringers who got roughed up. I always hate to see anyone get injured, even more so in a pre-season game.

Say what you like about Nu Yok, but they've got some decent headline writers if nothing else.

An interesting note about the Chiefs game - ex-Patriot O-line conversion project Steve Maneri finished the game with 3 receptions for 69 yards.

Shame on Rich Cimini. Here comes the better than it appeared spin JETS fans live for. Coples looked a lot better against Cincy's scrubs than he has in practice...and Tebow brings some juice (excitement) to the evening albeit no answers... Rex is convinced because he coudln't stop him no one can and DC's are having nightmares about facing that this season. Rex lives in his own little world (although he has dragged Sparano into it for company).

All I know is that having what amounts to two starters at the QB position will not end well for the NYJ.

Why heap praise so early in the season?

We praise Jones. He did very well. I actually thought Coples played decently in his first NFL game in all honesty. A break is needed there Cousins...........But the guy that topped then both was Ingram in San Diego. Jets passed on him and the Pats could have worked up further. I see Chandler as a fine addition but Ingram can be dominating. First Pre-Season games are very small indicators but they say he has been tearing up camp out there. Was a game one star.
It's all a "we'll see!" right now

:rolleyes2:

The Jets haven't had their entire O-line playing together for the entirety of training camp.

Mangold visited his sister in London.
Moore went to see C. Martin at the Hall of Fame induction.
They've been rotating Slausson & Ducasse @LG (actually this hurts my argument more than helps it)
Wayne Hunter has been hurt. (He's still a bum though)

We'll play better (we have to) by the end of the preseason.
You could use Holly Mangold.

Pats replay on NFL Network now.....get to see it and see who actually did what again....

Need some in depth analysis by the gurus here

This argument is ridiculous. Some guys have missed a few practices. Boo Hoo. Get back to me when you have 3 Pro-Bowlers who haven't played a snap. Of course the Jets couldn't sniff 3 Pro-Bowlers.

The point is the Pats played their game with mostly backups while the Jets played their starters. And the results were similar. Do you forget the disaster when Mangold was out last year? Their stupid 2nd string C couldn't even get a snap off.

The Jets starting OL ain't that good and the depth is nonexistent.

It is amazing what lengths they are going to prove he even dominated the 1s and how Coples was so much better than Jones in his debut. They keep comparing him to Richard Seymour.

Granted the fact that other than a handful of other players their entire team sucked, I guess they have to overinflate the good parts of the game.
