It was in Hawaii last year albeit in the week before the SB. They don't have a contract with Aloha Stadium for this year. While the TV rating may be up, probably as a result of the unfortunate pre SB scheduling, there has always been a problem filling the stadium, even with free tickets... The game was so ridiculous last season the fans in attendance were booing...
Who is going to pay the players (or their teams) who get injured in these combine type competitions???
I have always enjoyed the Pro Bowl when it was the last game of the season, like a farewell sendoff, a finally.
The liability issues, is neither a concern nor a worry of mine, the other leagues seem to deal with it, so it can't be any worse than a preseason game. Who pays for the injuries at the combine?
If it is gone, C'est la vie, but for me it will be missed.
Pro Bowl was pointless and boring to watch anyways. Injuries are too prevalent in any individual football game for all of the best players in the league to play for nothing, so there's just no reason to even have it. This is one of the rare moves on the league's part that I agree with.
Too bad they didn't do it 15 years ago- who knows what Robert Edwards might have done for us.
Well Tom never goes... so I never watch. It sucks anyway without the skill challenges.
I liked that show ESPN ran a few years ago, I think it was Battle of The Gridiron. I hate the Mannings but the show was entertaining. Branch was on Manning's team or something like that.
