DL ~ Defensive Tackle!! There are some seriously sweet Day 3 talents at my favorite position!! Akiem Hicks and Chigbo Anunoby are gargantuan BEASTS of enormous upside who could, with our help, become dominant, marauding FORCES at both Defensive End spots in the "34", and crushing, stomping NIGHTMARES at D Tackle in the "43"!! BOO Yah!! :rocker:

And I have just GOT to find a spot for Under Tackle Mike Daniels!!

This Gnat is a scrappy, fluid, oily Pass Rushing FORCE!!

DE/DF ~ End/Flanker/Heffalump!! Mad Bill, it's time to get ON that!!

Shea McLellin has been my Super Binky since The Dawn of Time.

He's gonna do it all, this guy: He's a dangerous, slippery, relentless Pass Rusher.

He can drop into Pass Coverage like an eel.

And he is a TENACIOUS Run Defender.

BOO.

YAH.

And don't sleep on Cam Johnson.

MF ~ MidFielders!! Despite the fame of **** Butkus and Ray Lewis, MidFielders remain ~ inexplicably ~ the Red Headed StepChildren of the Defense, the perfect counterpart to O Guards!!

For my money, only Defensive Tackle is more utterly vital to the success of a Defense.

Fortunately, we are deep and talented at this position, with Jerod Mayo, Brandon Spikes, and Dane Fletcher all on the rise, and Spikes and Fletcher in particular, in my opinion, poised to make take huge steps forward and make enormous Impacts, this coming year.

But we still need a Fourth.

The horrifying affect on our entire Defense, when Spikes missed time last year, should obliterate any foolish notions of our not needing as much Depth of Talent at this position as we can reasonably get.

It might be time to consider a Low Risk ~ insane Upside shot at Vontaze Burfict.

CB ~ Jamell Fleming is a Man Corner who I'd love to see us steal: 1st Round Talent masquerading as a 3rd Rounder in an outstanding and deep Corner Market!!

And Trumaine Johnson is a raw recruit with phenomenal upside who could develop into a tremendous Corner ~ Free Safety Hybrid ~ another 1st Round Talent, though less of a bargain if his 2nd Round Market Value is true.

And there are other intriguing Prospects, as well: Josh Norman is a very intriguing Prospect who's actually ~ incredibly ~ looking like a 4th Rounder, and Brother Reamer provided some exceptional Scouting on an intriguing quartet of Corners, which has me giving a long 2nd look at Coty SensaBaugh and Ron Brooks!!

QB ~ At QuarterBack, we are ridiculously deep, of course, and I'd love to see us cash in on Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett's Trade Value, though of course we won't. Hoyer I like, but he cuts loose next year for nothing, and he isn't my idea of an Heir Apparent, so I'd be much happier cashing his services in for a 2nd or 3rd Rounder ~ and replacing him with the phenomenal Kellen Moore ~ rather'n lose'm for nothing but a 2014 Comp Pick, next Spring.

Mallett, I have absolutely no regard for, whatsoever. I considered our drafting of him to be an Atrocity when it happened, and I still do. Were I to take command of this ship, today, I would make dumping him a priority, and would consider anything we got for'm to be Gravy, at this point. MIND you: I'd be coy about it, and let the Fish come to me...Probably get a 3rd for'm, in any case.

OTG, as much as I enjoy reading your assessments and admire your work, I have to take exception to your opinion regarding Kellen Moore. Unfortunately, I believe the scouts are spot on regarding him. At the Senior Bowl, he was the proverbial "deer in the headlight", spent most of his time worrying about the rush and pulled the ball down immediately whenever there was a wiff of pressure. He had a rough time getting a throw off and was, simply put, totally overmatched and extremely difficult to watch. A boy among men. He has no chance to make it in the NFL. Just my amature opinion.

1a. Lavonte David- I have wanted him on our team for a long time and am willing to take him in the first.

1b. Jayron Hosley- he leaves alot to be desired when it comes to tackling but his coverage as a cb and fs is really good.

2a. Billy Winn. All around solid defensive tackle.

2b. Chandler Jones- really interested in seeing how he would do with us.

3. demario davis- similar to lavonte david. I have disliked our linebackers for a long time and this is the draft to fix it.

4. ryan broyles or some other midget receiver.

I really wanted to find a way to stick cyrus gray in my little mock but we dont have a later pick.

The one guy whose tape continues to impress the more I watch is Nick Perry. I've watched several of his games over the past hour or so, and he's my number one guy right now. I'd take him over any other option in this draft right now.

Unlike Upshaw, he doesn't stay locked up and stationary. He keeps moving and fighting towards the ball.

He has a good punch too, as a number of times he got into the chest of the OT so quickly and jolted them backwards.

I know I'm the guy who preaches good height in OLBs (along with bulk and arm length), but we did see Belichick invest pretty heavily in Adalius Thomas, who also was a little short, but made up for it in bulk and speed. I could see it happening.

I'm not even sure what his measurables are, but he looks to be a decent sized guy. He's got a really strong base, and that shows as he continues to push guys back routinely.

So he's the prototype weight but not height? I think we can live with that

I haven't watched any other player be as consistent as Perry so far. I've gone through the Ingram, Upshaw, Bequette, Curry, etc. tape and he's on top.

I'm kind of surprised that he's not rated higher than late 1st early 2nd so far. Maybe draft day will open our eyes to his true value.

If you're making those moves with the 1st Rounders, I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems trading back a few spots and picking up another 4th Rounder.

I think its also interesting that neither have Janoris Jenkins in the 1st round. It seems the growing view around the league is that no team will touch him round 1, and while he may not fall to 48, if he does I think you have to take a long hard look at him.

Not if David DeCastro is on the board when they are picking. He's a significantly better prospect than either of the Bama boys. No holes in his game. And, may even be able to play center. Some don't like Barron's range and Kirkpatrick's coverage skills.

I don't see DeCastro falling past the Kansas City Chiefs, since Brian Waters is currently on the New England Patriots roster.

Bengals are very nicely positioned to go BPA. Bank on them getting someone from the SEC (they almost always do, particularly if it's from Georgia - hello Cordy Glenn). My money would be on Luke Kuechly/Cordy Glenn and Stephon Gilmore.

I suspect it more likely the Seahawks would want Ingram for themselves. They want a pass rusher who offers the flexibility to not just be an end but can play SLB too. Ingram seems to fit the bill perfectly for them.
