Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Iloka isn't a binky of mine.

I've never had to do it before but can anyone tell me how I ignore people on this board.

What a big liar you are. Just on the last page you wrote.

My binkies are strooong!

Marvin Jones was the leading WR on the bench press.

Jamell Fleming lead all DB's.

George Iloka with his long arms did 21 reps, second among DB's.

LOL. What a liar.

I have to do this all the time on here (Sup Da Bruinz!).

1. Click on a users profile
2. Just under where it displays their username in bold it will say "Send Message" and "User Lists"
3. Click on "User Lists"
4. Select "Add to Ignore List"
5. Confirm
6. Enjoy serenity

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Really stiff ha? 6.9 3-cone and 4.07 short shuttle. REALLY STIFF. You have been exposed.
You have no arguments only childish insults. That shows what a clown you are.

Watch your binky Iloka give up the long 80 yard TD on the first play in this vid.
George Iloka vs. San Diego State (2011) - YouTube

Great future Patriot. Gives up the long TD like its nothing. But at least he has "above average hip flexibility" and he's not "really stiff". Hahaha.

McShay and Mayock have been highly critical of Iloka's tackling. I'm thinking Harrison Smith might be a better pick at 48. And, we will have to move ahead of Philly and NYJ they pick 46 and 47. I have Barron going to Dallas in the 1st.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Wilfork should never be used to prove or disprove a theory. No generational player should. You wouldn't say every 4-3 end should be 300 pounds because Reggie White was 300 pounds. Would you?

Reggie White doesnt mean that every DE should be 300lbs but Reggie White does mean that an effective 300lb lineman can exist.

When people are using Seymour, it's a bit hypocritical to say that Wilfork cannot also be used.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

You're looking at positions as black and white. Seymour plays DT in the 4-3 but the DT position he plays is far different than the DT position Poe plays.

- Just because a player has played in a position or scheme in the past doesnt mean that's all they will play in the future.

Why would Poe waste his talent and learn how to play a 5 technique in the 3-4? He's a NT or 3 technique all the way.

Umm, probably because his employer tells him to

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

You're ridiculous. Have fun speculating about things that will never happen. Moving on..

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Hi Captain.

Look I agree with you about the Pats and pass rushers but I can only go with what I see. BB does not like one-trick ponies. We may disagree (I don't) but it's just a reality we have to deal with. Now BB has shown the ability to adjust and maybe last year was the first sign that he sees the need to get after the passer but I just don't see someone like Irvin representing the right kind of value for BB.

I'm not suggesting that Irvin is worthy of one of our top-63 picks; but as the draft progresses to the end
of the 2nd day, and if by some unfortunate circumstance Bill has failed again to add a desperately-needed
athletic front-7 edge defender (my preference is one of Mercilus, Branch, Perry or Hightower
by the end of the 1st round), then I see no reason why someone like Irvin (or Shea McClellin,
Ronnell Lewis, Brandon Lindsey or Kyle Wilber) cannot be at least considered at the end of the 3rd round.

A 4-2-3? Our defense couldn't stop anyone with 11 players on the field and you wanna do it with NINE?

At least we know that they can stop someone with 12 on the field.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

I agree. I had him in an earlier mock in the 4th round as a nickel LB to take over from Gary Guyton. Probably has a low ceiling, but a high floor.

Unfortunately, the younger Acho makes his older brother look like Shawn Merriman by comparison.

Hey, if we're getting Shea Mclellin or Ronnell Lewis in round three I would love it because they offer some versatility. I just don't see Irvin as a possible pick, sorry.

Fair enough. I also prefer McClellin (who's had a tremendous combine) & Lewis to Irvin.

Here's another name rousing my interest, Mychal Kendricks, LB, Cal-Berkley.

If a player "won" the combine, it might be him.

Fastest among DL/LB's in the 40 with 4.47.
Won both the broad and vertical leaps among SL and LB's
Played MLB this year, but OLB last year at Cal. Got 8.5 sacks that year.

Downside is that he's only 6'0 but I see him as a backup and nickel MLb, a stud special teamer and with that speed, an exceptional situational blitzer. Have a look at this vid versus Stanford. He's not highlighted but he's the MLB, No 30. look at his sideline to sideline speed, his fierce hitting, his instincts at finding the right hole and the speed with which he gets into the backfield.

Mychal Kendricks vs Stanford - YouTube

CBS Sports have with a round 4-5 grade, their 150th ranked candidate.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Kendricks tore it up. FWIW I thought Upshaw and Hightower looked like **** in the drills that are important to the LB position. Anybody else agree? Disagree? Neither of them had any fluidity in their hips. Upshaw looks 100% like a DE/Jack OLB and I could see Hightower going the same route or just be a MLB like Spikes.

I no longer see Hightower as that starting OLB for us and no longer have a first round grade on him, which is a shame because he, Barron and Kirkpatrick are the three players I've enjoyed watching the most this year. I'd still take him at #48 though, the guy is a stud at MLB and we'd have the best rotation in the NFL at that position.

Upshaw is really interesting. It's quite hard to diagnose why he's so good. I saw one of those youtube game split vids, can't remember who against, but he looked anything but a first rounder. The facts speak for themselves though, he dominated in the SEC. Not a fit for the Pats though.

Leverage. Low man wins as Chris Spielman likes to say. That's why teams say pay more attention to the tapes than the workouts.

Did Hightower run the shuttle & 3-cone? He's listed as DNP on NEPDraft.com.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

So for people that watched the drills today, along with the strict BB measureables for OLBs, who looks like the best fit to be a 3-4 OLB here?

Based on reading this thread it appears to be Shea McClellin.

People have problems with the following, whether it be height, speed, tape, attitude, weight, etc: Melvin Ingram, Quintin Coples, Nick Perry,Vinny Curry, Donta Hightower, Courtney Upshaw.

Andre Branch. But if we can't have him then Shea McClellin as a consolation prize in the 3rd.

Not sure. I watched him do the on field drills and he looked like ass.
