Giants @ 49ers game thread

Just a quick observation from a non expert, after a short sample: Looks to me like the Giants are able to move against the Niners with the sort of shorter inside passes that are the Pats' specialty. Meanwhile, the longer passes that work for the Giants — not so much the Pats — look well covered by SF. Maybe that's game plan, I don't know. Or maybe it's just me looking for signs the Pats can beat this SF D if Niners win.

I really like the matchup with the 9ers. They are an elite run defence but they are only average on pass defence. Brady should be able to pick them apart, especially with the shiftier guys like Welker, Hernandez and Woodhead.

An interesting fact: if the 49ers win this game, it'll be first time in six years that the NFC representative didn't play the Patriots in the regular season.

Alex Smith off tonight

The conditions really seem to favor the niners. They could pound this out in an ugly fashion.

It would be nice to beat Eli in his brother's stadium with Peyton watching. But I would prefer 49ers.

Man, Cruz consistently beats coverage. He's a hell of a find.

Wonder how so many scouts missed on Cruz.......

Cruz is really an awesome receiver

Manning must have a horseshoe up his a##......unreal how often he gets away (or the ref doesn't blow the whistle as in the SB that will not be spoken of again)

Yeah, Moore/Arrington vs. Nicks or Cruz? No thank you...it will be embarrassing.

God FOX sucks. Like a 6th of the screen is cut off. Cant seen anything to the left of the SF score and on the right all I see is "Nchampion"

This Carlos Rodgers guy is overated.

Was expecting much more after knowing this guy would be in the pro bowl.

Yeah CBS and NBC production of games are million times better...

If the Giants win, it'll be interesting to see who we put on Cruz, he's owning the SF CB.

With Moore's ability to close fast I could see him giving up some catches, but maybe picking one off.

No one on our team can guard cruz. No one

Nice job by the Giants to get the FG before the half.

10-7 Giants going at the break.

P.S. Cruz is killing the 49ers defenders.
