Just something to add onto here. Josh McDaniels has already seen and game planned for Baltimore. Now, I know it didn't work out so well, getting his doors blown off, but that may count for something in preparation. Just a thought.

I couldn't care less who they play, two good, physical teams. I hope they play for 10 hours today and beat the snot out of each other.

Key question: is the Baltimore D looking really old these days?

They won a lot of games with a crapy QB so you have to give them credit, but my sense is that then D has slowed down considerably.

On offense, I guess, there OL is blowing holes open for the running game, and they have All-Pros and talent on their line.

I'd rather play Houston, yet my sense is that Baltimore is on the downslope.

Flacco is only marginally better than Yates. HOU still has the better overall offense. Balt has a slightly better D IMO. So it's a pick em

I want Balt. I want to put an end to the Lewis / Reed era with a blowout. I want to hear Suggs putting blame on everybody but himself.

The Chargers OL played very well and Rivers torched them for 34 points.

Ray Rice scares me and so does that Raven defense..Houston coming to Foxboro would be an ideal situation IMO..

I'd say Baltimore. We have a lot more familiarity with this team. Neither QB scares me, both RB's pose problems. Either game I'm pretty confident though.

d%#*[email protected] guess I'll root for Houston as rookie QBs generally struggle vs. BB and his defensive looks. I just cannot bring myself to root for the Ravens.

I went with Houston, but I'm not 100% convinced. Both teams have dynamic runners, neither has a great QB, I would still give balt the edge on Defense even though they are getting old.

Houston. Not sure why people want to deal with Ray Rice, Ed Reed, Haloti Ngata, etc.

Can you imagine cheering when Ray Lewis makes a play? I can't. :bricks:

Head says Texans, heart says revenge.

Texans in the cold is the easier match up and not having to listen to Suggs all week a bonus. I hope the game goes to triple overtime and the winner is limping no matter who it is.

I voted Baltimore initially because I think the Pats are more familiar with what they do and also have a flawed offense. When an opponent is one-dimensional BB is very much in his element.

But the case for the Texans being out of their element in terms of cold weather and outdoor will also give the Pats a distinct advantage.

It is a close call but I would have voted the "least healthy team" if there was an option. I believe health is a big factor in the post-season. Yesterday, if the Pats put out the same D-line as they did against the Jets the previous post-season, then this may not have been the blow-out it turned into.

Might not be all that cold. Extended forecast is calling for low 40s, clouds, maybe some sprinkles. Obviously going to change, but in general looks like a warming trend for late next week. Weird winter.

As for the game, i agree with the Rapoport tweet: The Texans would be better for Patriots to face. Ravens would be MUCH more fun of a week.

Side note to the game: WEEI is going to carry the Westwood One broadcast of the game on 93.7.

Ravens...... I want to beat the best opponent

Give me Baltimore. Some redemption from '09 and we get to shut up Suggs and co.

To be the best, you gotta beat the best. May as well take the harder road and see what we've got.
