He was at 85.7 and now at a much more respectable 89.1 and ahead of Peyton. 36 TDs in 20 career postseason games and a TD in 18 consecutive postseason games. Not too shabby.

More importantly, 15-5 in the postseason.

Brady's lengend also jumped...

Brady is now 15-5
Montana went 16-7
Bradshaw went 14-5

Brady holds up quite nicely in that company, and he's still got games, and years, ahead of him.

Can you make a full comparison with Peyton's?

Brady: 15-5
Peyton Manning: 9-10

I was going to say that. Also, 36-17 TD INT ratio for Brady and 89.1 rating. 29-19 ratio and 88.7 rating for Peyton. A lot of the reason Peyton's rating is even that high to begin with is throwing yards. Brady especially earlier in his career tended to throw for less yards because he didn't need 300 yards to win.

But the most important stat is the 15-5 to 9-10.

News Flash.

Tom Brady is good.

I think Tommy had fire inside his belly last night..

Even after the game Tebow was surrounded by camera's, and there just seemed to be one one Brady.. which reinforces that Tebow(who I think is a good quarterback) has become more of a media creation than a reality.

Mediots unite.

Montana's post-season QB rating is 95.6.

Bradshaw's is 83.0

Wins and losses are more important.

Interestingly, when you do look at the QB ratings, you find that Montana was more of a high/low guy than Brady. Montana had 2 games with a QB rating in the 30s and one of 42.0. Brady's lowest ever was the 49.1 he had against the Ravens. On the other hand, Montana had 12 games with a rating over 100 (High of 147.6), while Brady's only had 7 (High of 141.4). Montana's also had 5 games with a rating over 120 compared to 3 by Brady.

it hasn't been that Montana's been decidedly better. It's been that Montana has been more uneven, but has put up more excellent and lousy games, while Brady's had more games with a QB rating in the 70's (5-1), and both have 5 games in the 80-100 range.

Obviously, given their respective records, both ways have worked.

So....

100+
Montana 12
Brady 7

80-100
Montana 5
Brady 5

70's
Montana 1
Brady 5

50-70
Montana 2
Brady 2

Under 50
Montana 3
Brady 1

Montana played 3 more games than Brady has to this point, as well, so the Patriots making the Super Bowl this season would make them just about even in games played (Montana will have played one more at that point).

Yea I looked at that too. I agree. Montana had some real stinkers but in his defense he went up against some incredible defenses that were in their primes and either went to or won the SB a year later.

His 5 worst games (passer rating)
1. L- 49-3 @ 1986 NYG- 'nuf said. One of the all-time best defenses
2. L- 30-13 @ 1993 BUF- BUF was #5 in points allowed and #5 in D passer rating
3. L-36-24 vs '88 MIN- I remember watching that game. Chris Doleman was incredible. Seemed like he hit Montana 10 times that game. Anthony Carter show. MIN's D was 8th in def passer rating and 4th in INTs.
4. W- 23-0 vs '84 Bears- Bears had the #1 defense that year
5. L-17-3 @ '84 NYG- Good defense. Getting better

For Brady's 5 worst, with the exception of the BAL game they won. He would have had better numbers vs BAL if they had Welker but thats neither here nor there. 06 and 07 SD D was very good. Snow Bowl was another (which was not easy and his 1st ever playoff game) and 03 TN game had Brady matched up vs a very good D in -9 wind chill...

I'm almost temped to say that his other worst playoff game was vs DEN in 05. Those two picks were back-breakers. Horrible timing at critical moments.

Even including Brady's epic performance last night, his playoff QB rating went from 85 to 89, trailing Montanta's 95.6 which is even more remarkable for Montana in the pre-Flag Football era.

Also, including last night's epic 6TD performance, Brady is at 36TD/17int in 20 playoff games, while Montana still has the better playoff ratio at 45 TD/21int in 23 playoff games.

Brady has the better record, has been more consistent, and has played with a lesser supporting cast.

Speaking of consistent, check out Bart Starr. Different era. Different times but pretty incredible....

Starr- 9-1 15/3 104.8 Qb rating

Aikman is also impressive

11-5 23/17 88.3.

Also interesting was that in games in which his QB rating was above 77, DAL went 10-0.
