He was 10 for 21. I watched the game; he threw a lot more than one bad pass.
He made one bad pass all night (I believe that's the number Simms credited). That's better than Brady's done for most of the year.
Deus, that's a silly comment and you know it. Comparing Tebow to Brady as a passer is a non-starter if ever there was one.
I didn't compare them as passers. I noted one game's passing by Tebow and compared it to Brady's passing games, strictly in terms of number of bad passes thrown. You know that Brady's been putting a couple of passes way off the mark in pretty much every game this year. The reason for it has been a topic of multiple threads.
Throw away pass is usually not a "bad" pass
Pass that just misses connecting is usually not a "bad" pass
Burying a pass in the dirt on a play where the ball's not supposed to be in the "place where only the receiver can get it" is making a bad pass.
Tebow's misses last night were generally close or deliberate.
OK, but I don't get your point by comparing the two, especially citing yesterday's remarkably uncharacteristic performance from Tebow as an example. The offenses and passing games are as different as night and day. If Tebow comes anywhere close to duplicating last night's showing anytime soon, I'll eat one of my hats.
People often forget that as Patriots fans or as a Bronco, we're SUPPOSED to be homers! That's the definition of fan(atic).
Oh I know you'll hear people say, "I'm a football fan, not a Pats fans..." but that's a load of steamin crap. Show me someone who doesn't have passion about their team and I'll show you a marginal fan.
"The Right Tebow" lights up secondaries for numbers of deep completions rarely seen in playoff games and leads his team to victory over heavily favored opponents. Why would the completion percentage matter?
It's not silly, it's downright idiotic.Deus, that's a silly comment and you know it. Comparing Tebow to Brady as a passer is a non-starter if ever there was one.
About as dumb as comparing the great Peyton Manning to a 'gay system QB who can't throw the long ball".Deus, that's a silly comment and you know it. Comparing Tebow to Brady as a passer is a non-starter if ever there was one.
You've taken a look at the Broncos's forums. I've been camping there for over 2 years, and I can assure you the vast majority of us are pretty clear-eyed about our chances.I understand fans are allowed to have optimism about their team and what not, but I have taken a look at their forums and there is a difference between optimism and blind faith and what I see there is blind faith, which i guess is what you should expect from them.
I had the joy of watching the broncos game at my friends house who is a prideful steelers fan. As I watched that game the steelers confirmed something in my eyes. They were not the same steelers we had faced in october. I have had this theory for the past month that the steelers "peaked" to early in the season, which was basically when we faced them. They were never as good after that game. The broncos may have faced a bunch of guys known as the steelers, but that team was most certainly not the steelers that I know and hate.
I'm actually loving the fact that everyone is giving the broncos a fare chance to beat us and that they are coming out very strong. I think it lowers the chances of us overlooking them. The biggest mistake teams have made against the broncos this season has been underestimating them.
I also love some of the excuses they are making why they lost last time to us. The fact that they turned the ball over 3 times is the biggest one. Yet they over look the fact that we played that game not only in their house, but without Branch, Chung, or Spikes, AND lost Carter in the middle of the game. I'm looking forward to this match up cause not only do I think we will win, but I think our defense will come up bigger than everyone expects, yet it will continue to be overlooked because we are facing Tim Tebow.
The only bad pass he threw all night was the one where the receiver was coming across the middle on 3rd down towards the end of the game and Tebow short hopped it.

And I've yet to see any criticisms of Tebow on this forum that match what I've seen on the Broncos' forums for sheer negativity.
For the most part your fans are very well educated. But you'll see occasional dumb comments as to why the Pats lost (when they occasionally do), just like anywhere else.
Like I've said previously, I think if you replay our last meeting 100 times, Pats win at least 75 times, whether or not we fumble.
We'll need to play lights out with no mistakes, and then hope the Pats make a few uncharacteristic mistakes on their end to have a shot.
But yeah, we're indulging in a bit of wild optimism right now.
