Come on now do you really want him dialing it back? No one wants to see anyone get hurt but part of what makes Brady who he is is that he cant dial it back.

But lets assume he could do you really want him sitting there on a key 3rd and short or 4th and short saying to himself the DTs are split so wide I could pick this up easy but you know what I might get hurt let me stick with the original play that now based on the DT split is less likely to work? Should he shorten his internal clock for releasing the ball to 3 seconds from 4 (or whatever it might be) just to save an extra seconds worth of QB hits and sacks? Maybe we should just play Hoyer this way Brady is healthy?
I think I said Brady couldn't dial it back? And obviously he doesn't/can't (and no I wouldn't want to change him 1 bit, that's partly what coaches have to do).

But, this is also situational football and does the situation warrant having Brady play the whole game. I can't answer that and my opinion hardly matters in this case . Only 1 guy can make that decision (as I'm assuming Brady can't either).

I fully expect Brady to start and play until the game feels out of reach. He'll have 2 weeks to heal and getting the #1 seed has alot of value.

... so the left "non-throwing" shoulder injury happend in the 4th qtr.
not sure then why Brady had such a hard time throwing to his right in that MIA game last week.
I remember he bounced one to Welker and at least one other to Gronk that he likely would have turned up field and gained a good chunk of yards.
Love the guy as much as the rest of ya'll but he's far from the "best QB eva" that people want to make him out to be.
Brady's gonna have to be much closer to flawless to beat a quality team like PIT or BAL ...with that defensive secondary they're putting out there.

You can dislike Brady, but he absolutely is in the discussion for greatest QB of all time. I think even his detractors would have a hard time slotting him out of the top 10. Seriously, the guy has most likely dealt with injuries for the whole season and despite that, has carried this team on his back en route to a first round bye and possibly a number one seed. But he missed a couple of easy throws (that could possibly be attributed to injury) and now he's somehow overrated? ************..

The only difference between Brady and Montana/Bradshaw in terms of SB wins is a miraculous helmet catch. Brady has an unbeaten regular season, the best win % in NFL history, and he's done that while generally being surrounded by much less talent than the top QBs in history. The notion that he's far from the GOAT is absurd.

TB has to win that 4th ring to be mentioned with Montana. It looks difficult right now considering this team is looking just to win a playoff game since 2007.I think he would already would have had a 4th ring if the personnel moves turned out well.

He doesn't. He hasn't enjoyed an all around fantastic team around him for the vast majority of his career, like Montana did. I too share the opinion that Joe is the greatest of all time, but Brady and even Peyton Manning are in the conversation.

Yeah, he had such "a hard time throwing to his right" that he was named AFC Player of the Week for the 20th time based upon his performance in that game. Every QB should have such a "hard time throwing to his right" (or left, or downfield or behind his back). The award must have been based upon his QB sneaks for TDs.

We're doomed, I tell you, doomed! :bricks:

Update: Thursday, Dec 29th..10 A.M

Curran reporting that Brady had his left shoulder imaged...no damage found...he's good to go...

Thank you. Not going to quote that inane post again, but I thought Brady had a great game overall. People that cherry pick a few incompletions to argue that he was 'off' are clueless about the game of football. Half of what makes Brady the future GOAT happens between his ears. Brady makes avoiding turnovers THE highest priority, more so than any elite QB I've ever seen--amazingly, one of the few who truly 'gets it'.' A large number of his incompletions have nothing to do with accuracy and everything to do with avoiding turnovers.

Brady out of practice again today, due to shoulder, according to multiple reporters (Schefter, Reiss, LaCanfora). Heard on radio Schefter said injury is "not insignificant," but LaCanfora tweets "Tom Brady's shoulder is "dinged," nothing major, he's played thru much worse. Both he and the team expect he will play Sun. "

Edit: Some folks on radio now saying Brady WAS at practice today, contrary to Schefter report. So, we'll see.

Hopefully this means no more of those QB sneaks that I was never fond of- we signed Polite, so hopefully he'll take care of short yard situations. From now on, I hope to see QB sneaks used only to burn up the clock (e.g., a half-hearted rush behind the line and fall down BEHIND your linemen).

Brady WAS at practice today....meanwhile, Schefter reports that a wild bear sh!ts in the woods...

At least, in that case, Schefter would be right. Unlike today.

Heh -- now Schefter says:

"Tom Brady present for start of practice during stretching drills, which means Patriots can list him as limited. But Brady not practicing"

And Rapoport says he was throwing - well.

RapSheet said:
RapSheet Ian R. Rapoport
One thing about Tom Brady at practice today: He threw the ball quite well. We'll have video later...

I guess they can debate what constitutes "practice" but Rapoport says he has video of Tommy throwing - which is a lot more than stretching.

I really like Adam, but this smells of desperation not to be wrong. So Brady was at practice, but he really wasn't. The following quote comes to mind right now (ok, I am paraphrasing):

"Is it possible to be at practice, but not be at practice only to be at practice?"

Depends what the definition of "be" be.

Adam would probably say he didn't really have a throwing relationship with the ball.

Brady listed on the injury report as limited with shoulder injury(Left) per Rapsheet

New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

Per Rodak:
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was present for the start of Thursday's practice, after missing Wednesday's session for non-injury reasons. A previous ESPN report stated that Brady would not practice on Thursday.

During the regular season, reporters have access only to the stretching portion of Patriots practices, so it is unclear whether Brady participated in the remainder of the workout.
