Big dose of Edelman/Underwood/Ocho

This may be way out there but I think this might be the week you see Hernandez lined up wide on a lot of 2 & 3 receiver sets. He could give some CB's problems outside the numbers.

I could see a heavy dose of the run game w. 1wr 3 TE (Herno, Gronk, Solder) and a RB.

That being said, if we come out w. a 2 WR set and don't see Chad as one of them, that's a bad sign.

With Vollmer out, wouldn't Solder have to be on the line? Unless BB trusts Cannon to play RT in the 3 TE sets.

Cannon has been ok to decent as a RT run blocking wise. Every time I've see the 1wr 3te set, Cannon has been the RT and Solder a TE.

Solder is more agile as a TE than Cannon as a TE/FB.

O, interesting, glad he is getting on the field.

Me too. I thought they were going to IR him after a game or two but with injuries to our O Line, I'm glad they didn't do it.

I do want to see ( vs Fins and Bills in garbage time) him at LT, LG and RG.

When's the last time Denver came up against an offense with so many options and a QB like TFB? Tebow's gonna have to play like someone named something other than Tebow to keep up. I don't think the Denver D can manage this freak show of an offense.

Green Bay week 4

inb4 the Pats use all one WR sets...

if denver finds a way to stop Gronk Welker and Hernandez the pats will lose, i will be shocked if Edelman/Underwood/Ocho have more then 5 rec total for the game

While obviously true, this goes for any of the other 31 teams we'd play against. Stopping those 3 players will give every team that we play against a huge advantage.

I see Bailey doing a decent job of stopping Welker, and some double coverage on Gronkowski with DJ Williams and a safety.

I have a bad feeling that Brady will pay at some pt in the game for going to the well once too often, but that has been a concern of most since we have no other real WR threats.

It will be up to Hernandez, the running game (yeah, I know) and some creative play calling to score our pts; although one would think that one of Welker/Gronk will still be able to get open on occasion.

Hopefully the defense will be able to stop McGahee and Tebow in terms of running the ball. I expect Denver to split the Pats as wide as possible on defense, which opens up many lanes for Tebow to run. The Pats run defense will likely be the whole key to the game tomorrow, in my opinion.

i see edelman, mayo, or guyton as the spy. They are probably the only non-db's fast enough to spy tebow. Maybe anderson? He's played lb/de hybrid like ninko. Not sure if he's that fast though.

Tebow doesn't have newton speed, but he's faster than most lb's and nearly as big.

Those three names strike fear into the hearts of men!!! Edelman! Ochocinco! and Eraserhead!!!!!!!! I can only imagine the late night cramming by Denver's defensive staff trying to find a way to stop these dominating offensive forces of our NE Patriots. Underwood is going to be downright BEASTLY in mile high tomorrow....I can feel it....Oh yeah.....Tebow will be saying many prayers trying to find an answer for this kind of amazing, unworldly power!!! ! WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!! GO PATS!

Brown!!!Patten!!!!!Coleman!!!!!!!

With a TE combo of Wiggins!!!!!!Rutledge!!!!!!!

Pats win 3-0 with a last second 66 yard FG by Gostkowski.

In postgame interview, Belichick thanks Beelzebub.

You can also pick 3 players on any NFL team and say the same thing.

I believe Denver favors zone over man. Bailey, at this stage of his career would struggle more with Welker than any receiver because of the cod and quickness, IMO.

I don't understand this, maybe you can elaborate. Brady throws a lot to receivers because they are open a lot. He doesnt decide before the play who he is throwing to and throw it whether they get open or not. This is why Brady throws less Ints than almost anyone, and will take a sack when no one is open.
If you presumption about WRs being covered is accurate, I would see that as more dump off passes, throw aways, or sacks, not forcing the ball.

It will be up to Hernandez, the running game (yeah, I know) and some creative play calling to score our pts; although one would think that one of Welker/Gronk will still be able to get open on occasion.
Someone is still going to be running Branch's patterns. There are many games where Branch is a nonfactor too. Your comments seem to suggest we are playing 10 on 11 or the defense can leave Branch's replacement uncovered.

This is where the versatility we have up front can help. We have a lot of big 2 gap DL who don't play a lot in the 43 base, but would play a lot against heavy running teams.
I am not worried by this game at all.

Ocho goes 7-115-2 today.

Now wait a sec....are you comparing the 2011 Denver Broncos to the 2001 "Greatest Show on Turf" St. Louis Rams here???? (BTW I don't even know who Coleman is!!.....Terry Glenn was probably there next most notable WR....I have forgotten....and Since no TE was mentioned in the Edelman/ocho/underwood post....? )

Secondly, Patten and Brown contributed ALOT that year...here's there stats
Troy Brown: 2001 New England Patriots 16 13 101 catches, 1,199 yards, 11.9 avg, 60 long for TD, 5tds, RUSH: 11/91, 8.3 avg, 31 yds longest,

David Patten: 2001 New England 16 games 51 catch 749 yds 46.8 yds/game 14.7 avg, 91 yds longest, 34 catch for 1st down, 4 TDs 2KR 44yds,

Here's what Ocho, Edelman, and Underwood have done so far this year.....

Edelman: 2011 NE 10 games, 3 rec 27 yards, 2.7 yards per game, 9.0 avg, RUSH: 3 attempts 2yds (ouch), 1 fumble, 284 yds KR, 0 TD. 269 yrds PR, 1 TD

Ocho: 2011 NE 13 games,4 Receptions (only 4 Rec!? holy sh$t!!!) 228 yds, 17.5 avg, 53 longest, 0 TDs

Eraserhead: 2011 NE 3 games, 2 catch 17 yrds 8.5 avg, longest 10 yrds, 0 TD

I think my point was very well made based on the OP post here......No one initially is going to be sweating the defensive gameplan against any of the above 3....they will obviously be trying to shut down Gronk, Hern, and Welk......I HOPE that Ocho, and Underwood make some impact today....but given the history thus far...don't see it.

DISCUSS?????? By the way took me awhile to type all those stats ...so PLease discuss Shmessy!!!!

PS....ohh.....you mean Walt Coleman!!! He made the right call....!!!!

Brown!!!Patten!!!!!Coleman!!!!!!!

With a TE combo of Wiggins!!!!!!Rutledge!!!!!!!

Can we take just a little more careful thought about thread titles before posting? Reading the topic, I freaked thinking that Edelperson had "caught something" from his Halloween encounter.
