Jets/Steelers in Round One ?

After seeing SD today, they may give Baltimore a game next week. Pittsburgh plays SF, so that is a game to keep an eye on also. Obviously the only losable game the Pats have is the Denver game.

did you see this defense today? they are ALL losable. no way I would rule out Miami either

If you think the Jets are going to lose 2 of 3 to the Eagles, Giants and Phins, none of which would be playoff teams as of now, why would you be surprised someone would want them as a playoff opponent?
The only potential playoff team they beat was Dallas who handed them the game.

Jets may lose 1 of the remaining 3.

But, Patriots last 3 games are no gimme's. Broncos will be one of the toughest opponents we face. Miami plays much better since we first played them. Bills are done.

If we lose 1 of 3 remaining, we may end up playing the Jets in 1st round..

Like people have said, if San Diego is back (rivers), that's a tough west coast game @ SD for the Ravens. Flacco is due for an egg too.

Pitt @ SF with SF coming off a loss.

Both could lose that week, we don't need Houston to lose.

Miami's coach just got canned. Do you honestly think they'll be busting butt on Christmas eve in New England? Even more so, Buffalo on New Year's Day? In Buffalo, Jan 1 is called "New Season's Start". The last time Buffalo won was October! Denver is going to br tough, and is by no means a given, especially with Tim ChesusCrispy Tebow at the helm in the 4th quarter.

RE: The jets- I see them losing one (maybe both) to Philly (now with Vick) and/or the giants who now have plenty of reason to fight and stay alive to make the playoffs. You guys think they'll steam role the giants? Really? The jets will probably crucify the fish. Good for them.

As it stands right now if all AFC teams who are 10-3 win out, NE gets the #2 seed behind Baltimore. ESPN is fascinated with the "if the season ended right now" thing. Guess what- it doesn't. Someone should inform Miseryotti and Felcher it doesn't as well.

After yesterday, the Jets chances of beating their in town rival Jints just went down big time. Both teams have playoff berths and city pride at stake.

Not really, they lucked out with a tipped ball into the hands of a LB in the perfect spot, had Mayo missed it they certainly would have put the game into OT where a coin toss and whoever got the ball first would likely have won the game.

Luck, not the defense saved the day.

Ahhhh, OK

An expert on what what exactly would happen that didn't.

The guy who is clueless on what happens knows exactly what would have happened if it happened but didn't.

Does it really matter who the Pats will play?

The only way the Pats will win another playoff game is if Tom Brady outscores the other team in a shootout. If he's at the top of his game on a Sunday, Brady should be able to beat any QB in the NFL, including Rodgers and Brees. If he has a bad game, however, I fully expect another playoff loss.

Pats have a better than 60% chance of losing to Denver this Sunday. They almost never win out here no matter how good they are and how bad the Broncos are. Jets will win 2 out of 3. I think that would give the Pats the 3 and the Jests the 6. Rematch of last years game but without the bye week. I don't think the bye will help this Patriots team.

The league would love the ratings.

Has ther ever been ONE post where you didn't resort to personal attacks and insults? Just one?

Have you noticed that there aren't too many people who do that here? At least on a consistent basis?

What the hell is your deal? That's 4 or 5 times just today that I noticed you stooping to levels of a 10 year old, calling people names, using incredible sarcasm to try and make your point...why? You get a kick out of using words like "clueless," "stupid," "dumb and dumber..."

Worse yet, you're doing it to people that have the respect from the majority of the forum, it's not even like you're picking on newbies or fans from other teams. All of the posters who you try and ridicule are here making good points every single day...they contribute to the forum on many levels.

If you don't agree with someone, can't you just state your reason like everyone else in a respectful way? WTF, dude? Why don't you relax?

Better than 60% chance of losing?!? And Vegas have them now as an over a TD favorites. The fact of the matter is they have never lost to a bad Broncos team other than McDaniels' one where they were on a five game winning streak when they beat the Pats and then collapsed. I give the Pats a better than 60% chance of winning.

Also, if the Jets lose one, that doesn't guarantee them a playoff spot. I think the Jets lose the nest two or at least two of three. They haven't beaten a team with winning record since week one when the Cowboys handed the game over to them. They are currently 1-5 against teams with winning records. The Eagles don't have a winning record, but with Vick and Maclin back they can play like one. The Giants will be playing for the NFC East and have a winning record.

Pointing obvious dumb is not a personal attack.

It's obviously pointing out the obvious.

can't handle the truth?

If you want to not receive a "personal attack" don't post something obviously stupid.

Here's a question for you:

Why in any reality do you give this guy cred when he posts what exactly would happen but never did?

It only happens if you are hell bent on not understanding what happens and cling to believing what doesn't happen.

My guess is you would sit and nod your head when he tells you 2+2=5.

i see miami and the eagles beating them...

If the eagles beat them this week, the Jets could actually "lose out." The team's psyche is fragile enough and being out of the playoffs could set the locker room on fire.

In any event, I don't see them as better than 1--2 the rest of the way as I think the Giants are on a 2007-like mission, in their minds at least.

...Obviously the only losable game the Pats have is the Denver game.

Oh come on. If you're going to make a statement like that at least say something like "the only game the Pats shouldn't lose is..." Every game is "losable" in the NFL, especially with our D.

Take it to the parking lot you two. I'll hold the betting money.

yahoo has a playoff thing where you can actually change the games. Which is nice.

They have NE as the first seed if they win out and Houston and Pitt do also, but with Baltimore losing a game. If Balt wins out too, then they are #1 and NE #2.

Anyway, I don't think there's any way NE can go to the SB without beating Baltimore or Pittsburgh, which seem difficult. Not impossible.

Yahoo may be wrong since the Pats lost to the Steelers, but then again head to head match ups are irrelevant in a three way tie.

The Dolphins have been playing well (so I've heard) and can split with the Pats even when they are having the worst of seasons. Buffalo has already beaten us. While I would predict two wins here, they are certainly losable, especially given how the Pats like to let Washington and the Colts back into the game late.

Respectfully,

Are the people writing off the Jets the same people who did that exact same thing last year?

Can someone dig up the threads from last year? It would be interesting to see such arrogance and blind homerism and could possibly be a very valuable learning experience for some around here who insist on underestimating a very tough team that raises their game when the games really matter.

I respect the Jets because they do what our Pats used to do - perform well in the playoffs. They are built for the playoffs. Good defense, able running game and a QB that doesn't freak out when the pressure is on. Throw in a pretty darn good coach who prepares his team too.

Astounding that some people never learn.
