Tim Tebow's Pastor "God is saving the Broncos"

I believe we have a religious forum here, no? Could the mods please move this thread there?

Obviously you don't go to church or know much about the bible. Regardless if you pray every night or are a man of god yourself (Being a priest or minister or such) that does not garnish you special treatment. He won 1 super bowl, thats more than a lot of players can say. He always stated how thankful he was for being able to win just that one. How many no-name players and practice squad members won rings, you ever wonder how many of those guys believed in god? Probably not. Obviously i'm not saying if you believe in god, you win a ring but if you compared the all time greats that don't have rings to the players who started about 3 games, I'm sure it would be unbelievably shocking.

Now the pastor above needs to worry about himself and his church. Although he is a man of god, he has no right to judge an event and call it gods work. In my personal opinion, this sort of thing should not be allowed. Who is this pastor to say that god is rewarding tebow for his hard work. There are MANY people in the world struggling and working very hard to support there family, where is their reward? Not only was Tebow blessed to be a first round pick, but he is getting paid an above decent salary. I'm sure there are people in the world that believe in god more than tebow and work harder than tebow, yet i'm sure they are going through struggles. This pastor is a reason why religion is perceived the way it is today.

he shouldn't be allowed to voice his opinion? I agree it's silly but your last comment sums up the price paid for his actions. He can judge whom ever when ever that's the reality, people do it daily, from non-believers to believers. Policing such actions infringes on a certain right we all hold dearly, I'd consider that worse than the action itself.

god isnt real, but this guy is right

It was just a matter of time before someone went there. I don't hold Tebow responsible because I don't think he would ever say something like this, but unfortunately there are going to be hangers on who crawl out of the woodwork.

The longest running scam just keeps rolling along.

Perhaps God could take 5 seconds or so to have some divine intervention on Brady's elbow. Better yet in the spirit of Xmas god could rejuvenate Ty Law for 2 months for us.

Don't say anything bad, he reads this forum too.
(God, not Tebow.)

Hold on a second. if this guy is right then the Broncos don't stand a chance next week.

Brady is God.

Somebody's got to say it for the sake of sanity: the whole Tebow "phenomenon" has nothing to do with God and everything to do with religion.

....This just in...
The hottest selling HOLIDAY gift in VATICAN CITY ? TIM TEBOW FATHEAD

the "right" I was refering to was "freedom of speech" lol

your opinions on the big G are noted and have as much weight as his, no offense. It'd be nice to hear about how to attack this D or shut down Tebow instead of the fluff peripheral soap opera.

Believe me, our souls are wrestling with this at this very moment in the admin forum.

It's not any easy call.

We intend to keep the football forum as much about what goes on on the field as possible. We've never been bashful about moving a thread to the religion forum or the political forum, etc.

There are times, however, when a player's Twitter account, or legal situation or public campaign does become relevant discussion for that particular week's game.

Like it or not, this is THE preeminent story in the NFL right now. Anyone listening to national radio shows or reading the internet knows that (for some reason) it is even dwarfing the talk about the Packers' perfect (so far) season.

In 2007, there were plenty of folks here who complained long and loud to have all Camera-Gate threads deleted or moved to a separate forum. Back then, while there was much discomfort about the subject, it was generally agreed that just deleting or moving threads about the issue was simply closing our eyes to what was being discussed in the real world. How could this forum be totally cleared of any talk about an issue that our friends, family and colleagues were talking about to us when we got off the computer screen?

It isn't a black and white issue. I sympathize with those on both sides of this - - whether it should be here or moved. Personally, I think it's part of the story of this week's game. For the star player of the Broncos it is part of what he does on the field and in the stadium during games.

I only ask that all posters post with mutual respect - - not to prosyletize and not to offend religious beliefs.

Myself, I've already made a few lighthearted jokes on the subject. However, I have had to delete and give warnings to a few posters making jokes about crucifixions.

Where is the "line"? Honestly, we're feeling our way around on that and I ask for everyone's patience this week.

I'll be just relieved to move along after a hopefully impressive Patriots win and set our sights on the last two home games of the season

If the Broncos end up winning the Super Bowl and Tim Tebow is SB MVP with 350 Yards Passing and 3 TDs and outdoes Aaron Rodgers, then you will see every resident of Colorado with a necklace with a Cross that has #15 on the center of it and Churches will pop up on each corner named St. Tebow's Cathedral.

If Tebow wins the super bowl The Denver Apostles will be taking the field next year.

Well they will short a man.....or else I'm calling a penalty

BLASPHEMY!!!! All of it!

I believe in god and I believe in miracles, but I know Denver's 6/7 game winning streak is nothing but Goodell and the NFL trying to keep Tebowmania in full effect. It makes no sense that the Bears defense would suddenly stop pressuring Tebow and go all soft, it also made no sense that Barber would run.... out of bounds? with a minute and something left to go?

Whoever said he thought he would lose to Tebow, may have been aware of the cash or words exchanged between the owner and the commish about the Tebow product being good for the NFL and the fix that was put in for Tebow to win (by 3 points), hell Kraft has already said it himself. And he made the deal with Devil Goodell to have the Patriots lose by 3 as well, I've already summed up how the game will be played in some other thread.

I don't like bringing up religious views with others, because it is a very sensitive subject to me, I also don't like it when people mock religion and god the way they do. Tebow may or may not be a great person-- who am I to judge. There's probably many very religious players playing the game of football - I've read about Polamalu and Warner, they don't use their beliefs to make cash or get famous, they keep it private and people who meet them, just know or write about it. Tebow and his pastor are using god to make cash and get him famous, like Mel Gibson did with his movie, Passion of the Christ, a really good movie, but did he really need to sale bracelets and pendants with the movie logo on em' after that) This sort of greed offends me worst than child molesting priest, con-artist faith-healers and money-stealing preachers.

The 2011 Broncos have that 2007 Derek Anderson Cleveland Browns feel about them to me.
