Tim Tebow's Pastor: God Is Saving the Broncos | TMZ.com

I guess God doesn't like any other team but the Broncos and every other team is full of evil players .

If this is true about Tebow, then I wonder why a highly religious man like the late Reggie White who was also an off the field Minister and a devoted man of God didn't win 5 Super Bowl rings

that pastor is gonna get a heavy dose of reality soon enough.

That is just silly. Why does he feel the need to embarrass himself

This whole Tebow thing has gotten way out of hand.

Babe Ruth must have been one of the most pious men on earth.

I agree completely, this is idiotic.. who cares about a players religious beliefs, some players wear it on sleeves and some folks live it(Mayo)..

It needs to be about football..

Hang on. Over the next 6 days it's going to get a whole lot worse.

........and on the 7th it will rest. (or be put to rest).

So God willfully ignores all the problems of the world like genocide, terrorism, starvation, war and natural disasters and instead chooses to use his powers to influence football games? Interesting.

There are probably hundreds and thousands of men playing this game or played this game and men coaching as well who go to church every sunday or other times of the week and give their whole lives up to Jesus but have been in the NFL for years and have never won a thing, some never even made the playoffs....

That does not make them any less worthy than Tebow .... this is something that never should be associated with Football,God does not favor one athlete over the other.

Remember when Dungy held up the SB trophy and said "God wanted the Colts to win?"...how many of us hurled that very minute?

There must have been a distinct lack of Godliness in the Detroit Lions game then because what I observed was one team full of dirty, self entitled players beating the crap out of one team touched by the grace of some God.

Sooner or later religious fanatics will work out that it isn't God or any other power at work, it's their own belief in something that compels them to great things.

Obviously you don't go to church or know much about the bible. Regardless if you pray every night or are a man of god yourself (Being a priest or minister or such) that does not garnish you special treatment. He won 1 super bowl, thats more than a lot of players can say. He always stated how thankful he was for being able to win just that one. How many no-name players and practice squad members won rings, you ever wonder how many of those guys believed in god? Probably not. Obviously i'm not saying if you believe in god, you win a ring but if you compared the all time greats that don't have rings to the players who started about 3 games, I'm sure it would be unbelievably shocking.

Now the pastor above needs to worry about himself and his church. Although he is a man of god, he has no right to judge an event and call it gods work. In my personal opinion, this sort of thing should not be allowed. Who is this pastor to say that god is rewarding tebow for his hard work. There are MANY people in the world struggling and working very hard to support there family, where is their reward? Not only was Tebow blessed to be a first round pick, but he is getting paid an above decent salary. I'm sure there are people in the world that believe in god more than tebow and work harder than tebow, yet i'm sure they are going through struggles. This pastor is a reason why religion is perceived the way it is today.

Gee, I wonder what God is doing to Aaron Rodgers and his Packers?

No it won't in terms of the whole issue ....it will be put to rest once the Broncos are eliminated from the playoffs.

God will then be a Packers fan

If you are referring to me,my opinion was 'SARCASTIC'

Now I was only listening to bits and pieces on sports talk radio but i'n the last couple weeks they were discussing Tebow and whether God was involved. One of the hosts read a quote by one of the players on a team that had recently lost to the Broncos (can't remember who). He said something along the lines of he knew they were going to lose, Tebow is a blessed man and there was nothing they could do.

Nothing they could do???

That's why it getting out of hand. When you have opposing players saying stuff like this it is pretty unbelievable.

Fixed it for you.

Seriously, dude. There are probably plenty of believers on this board. Let's be cool.
That's the point j109. If there are plenty of believers in "God" or any other deity, why is Tim Tebow the only one to be graced by good fortune? That's the conundrum and the stupidity of his pastor's comments.

All it is, is a PR exercise for the church designed to capitalize on the success the Broncos are currently enjoying. Nobody does PR like religious organizations.

Meh...if somebody on this forum thinks the Patriots were the team of the decade because god wanted us to win then they are going to hear my opinion on it and i won't be sugarcoating it.
