Mayo takes a $25,000 hit to the wallet

Especially since Mayo WASN'T flagged.

Poor logic.

I don't recall the exact play so I am not commenting on the specific merits of this fine, but.....

Whether the on field refs saw an infraction or not shouldn't be the basis for determining if a player should be fined, the nature of the infraction should be the basis.

If anything it fines should be higher (not lower) for equivalant infractions that were not flagged on the basis that one player was already punished by putting his team at an on field disadvantage, while the other escaped that punishment.

Show me the PLAY. Like Goodell, you seem to forget that the QB actually has an official assigned to him to watch for these sorts of things.. If the REFS say it's not a penalty, who the hell is Goodell to turn around and say it is. NO ONE has been able to say which play this supposedly egregious hit the the helmet took place.

Not to mention why the fine, which is Mayo's first of the season to my knowledge, is on the equivalent of someone who has multiple fines on the season.

show me the play. Not some still shot where you can't see a damn thing..

I am NOT argruing the merits of this particular fine. So I am not going to show you the play. I don't know which play this was, nor is it germane to my comment.

I am stating that the argument that a ref not seeing a dangerous play is not a valid reason for a player to escape a fine as a general principle.
