Report: Jay Cutler may be out for the season

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Bears fear Jay Cutler has a broken thumb. Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune quickly followed up that report to say Cutler indeed does have a broken thumb on his throwing hand.

Hearing surgery upcoming for Cutler. Chance it could put him out rest of the regular season we hear.

Update....

Two sources confirm that Cutler will be sidelined for 6 to 8 weeks, but the Bears have no plans to place him on injured reserve.

Cutler was having a great season. He really took over the game against the Chargers this weekend (outside of the ugly pick). I'm going to miss watching him play. Real shame.
