Due to tiebreakers.

And as Deus mentioned, in six of the next seven games we face the following quarterbacks...

Sanchez
Cassel
Painter
Beck
Tebow
Moore

the AFC West/South are so bad the #2 seed can be had as well. :D

This is the stretch when the offense has to get their sh*t together if we're doing anything in the playoffs. Either Ocho or Price has to establish themselves as an outside threat and Vereen and Ridley have to be looked at. The offense is too plodding right now. You know what you're getting with BJGE and Branch, but the defense pays no attention to these guys and it allows them to clog up the middle of the field where all the Pats good players are.

I lolled when I read this title haha. Just because of the overall mood of the board right now.
Idk I'm weird sometimes. But thank you for the positive post.

We could be first place next week by a game ahead of both Buffalo and the Jets or we could be in third place

The season could be on the line next week in the Meadowlands folks.......this IS our Super Bowl,at least in November.

Lose 3 straight and I really don't know if we can dig out of that big a hole.

I'm pretty confident we make the playoffs..most likely win the division. But our problems still remain...we just don't have the personnel to go far in the playoffs imo.

When was the last time we lost three in a row? Damn this is all too foreign to us

We speak as if the jets are a lock to win the rest of their games. We speak as if only one AFC East team can make the playoffs. It's a long season, whether we win next week or not.

Looking at the schedule, I think the Jets will win the division.
Why should we even bother going to the play offs? The team will be better served staying at home to prepare well for the draft.

I can't really remember the last time we lost TWO in a row, actually. I mean, besides now.

Funny, the Jets were in that same situation 3 weeks ago a look where they are now.

If we're still in first place after next weekend color me impressed. We still play some pretty good defenses over that period of time and the league seems to have caught up to our offense. Just like in the NFL Network special on BB when he said if they cover Moss and Welker we have no answers just swap out Moss for Gronkowski right now and it's the same.

There's still lots of time but going into a place where they've had no success the last two seasons there's a reason to be concerned.

2009. Twice. We lost the last regular season game to the Texans and then went 1 and done in the playoffs. If you mean to regular season games in a row. Saints and Dolphins weeks 12 & 13.

It was 2002. Two weeks after hitting this milestone we made it four in a row. (there was a bye week in between)

If the playoffs were being played today.....

Bengals #1 seed.
Texans #2
Patriots #3
Chargers #4
Ravens #5
Steelers #6

Meaning the Steelers who have a better record than us and who beat us would have to travel to NE for wildcard weekend.

And now, a week later, the Patriots in sole position of 1st place in the AFC east, with...

-A 1 game lead on the Bills
-A 1 game lead on the Jets
-First ever season sweep of a Rex Ryan coached Jets (first overall since 2007)

We now play 6 consecutive games against teams with a losing record...

Code:
vs Chiefs (4-5)
@ Eagles (3-6)
vs Colts (0-10)
@ Redksins (3-6)
@ Broncos (3-5)
vs Dolphins (2-7)

[B]Overall:[/B] 16-39 (.291)

With the only winning team left on schedule being a home game against the Bills (5-4) to end the regular season. Making the Patriots schedule (by win %) the easiest schedule remaining in NFL.
