There are three players coming off the PUP list:
Brace
Deaderick
Faulk
All three players are now practicing.
There is one player coming off the reserve/non-football injury list:
Cannon
He is now practicing.
This represents four players who are now practicing. There is now a three week window for players to either be activated to the roster or placed on IR.
For any of those players to be activated for Sunday's game, the deadline is this Saturday at 4pm. An activation constitutes being added to the active roster.
I thought I would start this thread to discuss who would be activated and who would get IR'ed. There are clearly some tough decisions to be made.
It bears repeating here that you cannot IR or "redshirt" a player who is not injured (e.g., Vereen).
If I had to guess, I would point to Donald Thomas and Ross Ventrone as two players who will probably be cut to make way for two new players. Maybe also one of the following: Adams or Mouldin.
We may IR an active player to make more room, but other than Fletcher and Dowling, all players have been practicing lately.
Obviously we are thin at DL and interior OG (Wendell is now the backup C). We aren't thin at RB, but Faulk offers great pass protection in addition to experience so he would be a difficult decision to IR.
Of all four players, I think Cannon is easiest to IR- after giving him 3 weeks of actual practice experience, although I personally hope this wouldn't be the case- I think he gives us major upside talent-wise and is a big upgrade over Donald Thomas who is the sole backup OG.
