Mike Francesa And D Revis

Pereira has "shaded his opinion" on more than one call in the past. In this case here, he's either lying his ass off or he didn't actually look at the play. The shirt grab is too blatant to miss.

so is running into darrelle

Couple of people in this thread called Revis one of the best corners. Please learn some football. Revis is the best. Nobody even close. Francessa began the interview by calling him the best defensive player in the NFL.

Let's get it straight

there is no one here at this site that wants to learn, cares to learn or thinks they can ever learn anything from a pom pom waving 42 year straight green loser...get THAT straight.

looks like revis was right in this scenario. he didnt commit a penalty.

OK...what about the seventy other uncalled pass interference penalties he committed that game? Rat fan is obviously IGNORANT of what pass interference REALLY IS ...I guess because they've grown used to Revis breaking the rules and cheating so much that his style is taken for granted....

Actions that constitute defensive pass interference include but are not limited to:

(a) Contact by a defender who is not playing the ball and such contact restricts the receiver’s opportunity to make the catch.

(b) Playing through the back of a receiver in an attempt to make a play on the ball.

(c) Grabbing a receiver’s arm(s) in such a manner that restricts his opportunity to catch a pass.

(d) Extending an arm across the body of a receiver thus restricting his ability to catch a pass, regardless of whether the defender is playing the ball.

(e) Cutting off the path of a receiver by making contact with him without playing the ball.

(f) Hooking a receiver in an attempt to get to the ball in such a manner that it causes the receiver’s body to turn prior to the ball arriving.

Revis broke every single one of these rules against Miami...some multiple times...what's worse is that punk nickle back was doing the exact same things and the refs let HIM get away with this cheating crap....

typical rationale peculiar to the Jet fan.....man in Jersey goes before the court on an assault charge for knocking a woman out cold...his defense?..."your honor, I HAD to hit her...she was hysterical..."....you may as well try and reason with a dead oak stump in the swamp.

From now on I'm gonna dub you the 'soxxx' poster of PatsFans

grabbing and tugging another players jersey is LEGAL? It was a penalty and nothing will convince me otherwise.

SD wins tmmrrw

I hope VJ and the foot TE guy are back. Maybe Rex can help heal Gates' Feet w/ his TLC we all know how much Rex likes those feet

Buffalo will beat the NYJ's once b/c the JESTS have 1 of the WORST run D's in the NFL

Guys, lets not forget, these are the fans that decided to put all the blame on Eric Smith last week when Revis got his stuff toasted by Wes Welker.

Revis can do no wrong in their eyes. It is not worth arguing the rules or anything about Darrelle Revis with them.

As much as this pains me to say, and it hurts immensely, Revis is one great player. That being said, stars in every sport enjoy liberties that good players and JAGs do not. I'm surprised Revis didn't go home with a piece of Marshall's jersey. Ty Law played exactly like that and Polian passed a rule allowing receivers to wear skirts. Revis is just too damn good to be called for his molestations for the most part. He gets a lame call against him occasionally, just so we get the illusion of fair play. Whether you like or hate Francesa, he always calls them as he sees them. Even his idol, Mickey Mantle, has not escaped Mike's criticism. Like someone always says, it is what it is.....

lol Dion Sanders was a super athletic, tackle you from behind, gambling corner who became a gigolo for Super Bowl ready teams that didn't need him and talked his way into the HOF. He was Antonio Cromartie 10 years before. Dion Sanders and Gale Sayers are quite possibly the biggest HOF gaffs of all time.

This is how I view the elite: The ones who have to tell everyone that they are elite simply aren't.

Actually Deion Sanders Couldn't/wouldn't tackle for sh*t.....He'd jump out of the way before he'd make an attempt at a tackle! But the guy was one of the greatest ballhawks of all time....and held/clutched/pushed off on more receivers in his career than probably and CB in history of the game.

If you listened to the interview, you know that they did get away from the topic, and that it was Revis who went back to it. It's on Revis, not Francesca.

So you are either calling me a liar or backing my point about DR being too sensitive. Which is it?

Regardless of your take, I will continue to believe that it is both parties fault. Revis is too sensitive and has rabbit ears and Francesca saw blood in the water and in typical fashion, does what he needs to do for the sake of ratings which is to cause a commotion.

I'm waiting for someone from the Jets PR Department to interrupt this thread.

Neither.... there's a difference between listening to a clip and listening to the entire interview. Also, Revis may, or may not, be too sensitive, but this one incident wouldn't demonstrate it either way.

Believe whatever you want, but you may not know the backstory. That play was bound to be a significant part of the discussion, because it's what Francesca had been talking about during the week. That being the case, it's not Francesca seeing blood in the water, since he never expects to get Jets interviews.

I agree, there is a difference. Just in case you have not seen it here it is.

Just like Francesa, I have an opinion and a take on what transpired.

I've seen it, thanks.

And your opinion, which you're welcome to, flies in the face of the facts and backstory. There's no sense continuing this, though, so have yourself a great day and let's hope for a Chargers victory.

idk why would he lie? he knows the rules more than any of us here.

you at NO point can GRAB a players jersey like that... are you Dumb??? Well, you do come onto a PATS board and are a JET fan so you don't have to answer that question

we all know what it is

I've seen it, thanks.

Too bad the Chargers lost.

Deus- I'm aware of the backstory (Francesa hates the Jets and the Jets can't stand him b/c MF gives them zero respect). That doesn't excuse the childish-like behavior by both parties.

To say that besides his rookie season, he's never played on a level playing field is beyond absurd. I love how you mention Revis holds on every play. How do you know this? Do you have a special tv that allows you to see the safeties and cornerbacks play? Because I don't, and neither does the rest of America.

I give you credit for saying he's one of the 2 best at his position, but after that your argument is full of holes and inconsistencies.

The standard view of an NFL play goes farther than 5 yards down the field. Note that anytime Darrelle Revis is not in zone coverage, he is still dry humping the receiver as he and said receiver exit the screen. Look at yesterday, he was mauling Jackson on several plays beyond 5 yards.

Look - he's a great cornerback, don't get me wrong. He has all the skills a great cornerback has. Regardless of the rules and the enforcement of them, he's going to be in the conversation for best CB in the league right now.

The fact that he can be that physical with receivers - whether he's getting away with murder or not - is a testament to his skills, b/c not many corners could. I'd just like to see how he'd fare if he had to stop jamming receivers after 5 yards downfield, as most other NFL corners are forced to do.

Well I saw this on TV one time and it looked like Marshal stumbled into Revis but after looking at the video repeatedly, it was definitely interference. Revis interfered with his route after five yards, no doubt about it.
