MNF: Lions vs Bears

I think we are doing really well. We have the #4 offense behind you, but our running game with spoles/thomas/ingram, is really taking off. Spoles has way out performed any year bush had already, thomas is thomas, and Ingram is finally making the hard yardage we drafted him for. Brees is Brees, lol. Graham our TE is coming along with David Thomas.
Defensively were still trying to gel, but our secondary is solid. We still have to fix our DL, but we kept Cam Newton to 200 yards and a 50% completion rating for the 1st time, not to bad.
On the Street we are not happy about some hits our boys are doing on defense. Not sure why GW is allowing it.
Our OL has had a lot of injuries, actually we have had a lot of injuries period, but nothing serious yet, knock on wood. Hartley is on IR though.
All in all we are surviving , the Falcons are imploding , and the Bucs are too young and making mistakes. As of today we have a solid hold on the division, but theres a lot off football left.
I think we are under the radar, its a good feeling.

I was impressed by your Jets win. The Patriots looked like they were a way tougher team, really surprised me. You ran at them at will, pretty impressive.

ic.

I like brees a lot, i really do. But i just feel like he is not on the level of tom brady or aaron rodgers at the moment. Am i wrong?

Yea our running game is taking off, hope it stays taht way!

In a way yes , in a way no. every offense is a completely different microcosm, and a QB is only as good as the coaches, team mates, and weapons around him.
No Brees is not better than Brady. Bradys not as accurate as Brees, but has a better arm, and is a better clutch player. He might even be a better leader, not sure yet.
Brees is better than Rogers, I think all the #'s prove that, in fact Brees might be better than PM, if he had started on a better team earlier.
Rogers won a SB going threw , the eagles #23 OL, Bears #32 OL, and Steelers #28 OL. With the GB DL thats almost a cake walk. The Steelers were intercepted 3x and they barely won the SB.
Brees won a SB going threw 3 Hall of fame QB's, and faced the #1 seed, and Rogers was beat by Kurt Warner.
When we played GB in the opener, we didn't have will smith, lance moore , or tracy porter, and they almost lost.

I think Rogers has and incredible arm, way better than Brees. But I don't think Rogers is a better Manager, near Brees's accuracy, or can read coverage as well as Brees yet. And Brees has a better OL. Im not convinced that GB has a better WR/TE stable than we do either. I mean Colston, Moore, Meichum, Henderson, Thomas, Graham is pretty formidable. No I don't think Rogers is better than Brees, right now. I think he's a great QB and flavor of the season, but like Brees he has a lot to prove, and he needs time to develop proof on the leader boards. Brady's on there, Brees, and PM, Rogers needs a sustained career to be better. Ask yourself this, how would Brady or Brees be doing as QB of the Packers?

NFL Leaders, Football Records, NFL Leaderboards - Pro-Football-Reference.com

Check Single-Season, Brees has an impressive body of work.

Im a little bias , but with Rogers and Brees commanding the same offense, I think Brees would be more consistent. Im not going to put rogers over Brees after only 1 and 1/4 good seasons of play.
Brees has 6 years of better stats. And you have to look at , is Rogers good or are the guys around him, making him look good.
Brees throws passes in a knot hole, The catches Reggie Wayne makes from PM makes him look great, but its all RW.
I think you can answer it the best. In the SuperBowl who scares you the most with you ahead by 3 pts , 2 minutes on the clock ?

Rogers or Brees

not even 2 years ago, Breese was "the best in the nfl"

IMO Brees is better than Rodgers, but then again I can see past the flavor of the month mentality unlike most people.

Rogers or Brees

what rodgers showed me in that last playoffs and the superbowl SCARES me more than most quarterbacks ive seen in the past 10 years. Peyton mannings a choke artist in the pressure moments.

Lets not act like rodgers wasen't doing some heavy lifting in the playoffs last year. He carried his team at times... How many 3rd and outs did he avoid with his clutch play?

Yes brees/manning/brady have done it longer than rodgers, but barring injury, what makes you believe rodgers cannot do it just as long either?

IMO, if you put rodgers on the patriots, he will fit in similar to brady as well (obviously not as well as brady). I mean the guys just as accurate as brady and when the pocket breaks, has one of the best mobilities ive ever seen.

TBH, my ideal situation would be new Orleans vs packers in the championship game (let the best team win).

Ravens/jets vs patriots in the championship game (patriots obviously).

Than pats winning against either the saints/packers in the SB. NOW THAT would be ******* awesome.

The Lions remind me of the Ravens in the late 90s....and of course they went all the way a few years later.

I still can't believe we are seeing the Detroit freaking Lions at 5-0

Shwartz must have learned a lot from BB,he has this team in another dimension from where they were just 3 short years ago.

I wish that Schwartz had learned how to compose himself as a HC on the sidelines from Bill.
Instead, he seems to have learned how to be a fist-pumping AHole from Tony Soprano.
No wonder his team acts like punks.

Hey so, I know this might have been mentioned elsewhere, but I was peeking ahead at the schedule., and there's a good chance we'll have a Thanksgiving Day game between two unbeaten teams (GB and Detroit). Packers' toughest game between now and then is at SD Nov. 6. Lions have games vs Atlanta, at Chicago and against a scrappy Carolina team to get over.

Yeah, lol, Rogers arm is scary powerful. His one weapon thats so hard to counter is his ball is thrown so fast , their is little or no time to react to it, and if you have the receivers Cobb,Jennings,Nelson,Finley, driver who are all hard to cover, it makes it difficult to counter. His throws are not as accurate as brees/manning/brady, but his WR's make up for it.
I remember when everyone was afraid of Farves cannon arm and foot work , but Farve never learned to manage the game and stop playing like a kid. Remember how he won the Super Bowl and GB was talking dynasty, and that Farve was going to win 2-3 more rings. He never did. I remember Farve not wanting to leave GB because he knew how extremely talented the team was.

Rogers also has a huge weakness, HE WONT STOP RUNNING the ball, and already has a number of concussions that might end his career early, and GB is not doing a good job in the offseason building a better OL to protect him. IF Rogers didn't have brilliant instincts and great feet, he would be sacked a lot more. They need to fix their OL. GB's lack of run game shows how bad their OL is.
Rogers is an elite QB, I think, and I think with a lot of hard work he can do just as good a job as brees/manning/brady in time. But what worries me about Rogers also is I am not hearing anything about him staying late, getting to the field early, fanatically studying the teams he is playing before or during the game. 3 things brees/manning/brady all have in common. Rogers needs to make that step. Maybe Im missing something on his work ethic, I don't know, not hearing about it, or seeing him studying much on the field.

Im not convinced Rogers is as accurate as Brady, or as consistent , or a better game manager. I do think Rogers has a better WR core than Brady. And Im fine with Rogers being put over over Brees, we like him, and
he's doing a good job for us. Not that we have ever had a QB to compare him to,lol

But then Brady is shredding teams with the Patriots offense, no matter who plays over the years.
I remember how good Brady was with a killer team to win 3 SB, and he's still that good. Rogers has a killer team. Im just a little hesitant about saying Rogers is going to be better than brees/manning/brady , and jumping the gun before I see a consistent body of work, and the elite work ethic to sustain it over the years.
Im just not convinced yet, that if Rogers was given the exact same team as brees/manning/brady, he would study and consistently beat them 6 out of 10 games.
You know what I mean?

huh? rodgers is just as accurate as brady/manning/brees.

I am pretty sure brees 2009 saints team was just as stacked/good as the packers of last year(dont forget, they had massive injuries to their squad as well).

I think rodgers will prove hes a better playoff performer than a manning... but maybe not be on the level of a brady (don't know about brees yet).

Time will tell

difference being, favre was a known GUNSLINGER, rodgers is not. He makes the right decision more often than not (has the past 16 games).

I think rodgers reads defenses with the best of them (brady/manning are probably >) but he is on brees level.

lol, ok Ill buy 60% of this, but not that Rogers is as accurate as Brees, lol, I just can't make that leap. Not sure why your still on the fence about Brees though, He's been top of the leaders boards for 6 years, and in most ways out performed Manning, should have won MVP in 2009 and probably 2008.
Short of winning a super bowl every year, not sure what else he needs to do to give you more confidence, lol.
