Other than kill his team with penalties.
I have to watch the tape to see who was blocking him most of the time. Looked like he was on Connolly quite a bit. But we blocked him all day, he wasn't even a factor.
Solder was a better player than Seymour today.

He helped us more than hurt us. If not for that first PF, we likely go 3 and out, give Raiders the ball in good field position and it could have been a whole different start to the game. 10-0 on the road and a rattled Brady would have been asking for trouble.

You could tell he was all hyped up, good thing he didnt channel all that energy in a good way.

Thank god, I was getting tired of the constant *****ing about the Seymour trade.

He's still on pace for 10 sacks this season. That's something. He has had 0.5 sacks in the last three games, but it still pace for 10 sacks.

He actually got quite a bit of penetration. We lucked out big time with the penalties and there was one play where Brady just got the hand off away before Seymour took him down.

Really, Brady's best drive was on a series where Sey sat out. Not a coincidence IMO.

EDIT: The above has nothing to do with the trade. I just thought he got penetration.

he was imitating the Pats defense from last week.

He was offsides on the play you are talking about.
If he got penetration it wasn't near the football, so that isn't really doing anything special, I could get in the backfield going in the direction they want to block me.
He was not a factor at all, except for the penalties.

The Pats had 4 long TD drives, how is it coincidence that Seymour was off the field for part of one of them?

Thank You, Richard Seymour. His bone headed play on Brady jump started the Patriots Offensive Juggernaut (as described at a raiders site).

My gut feeling about the Brady take down is that Seymour channeled all his anger at the Patriots organization in that play and it was his INTENTION to take Brady out. Brady was saved when Seymour became aware of the blatancy of his actions and took some of the force off that hit.

If you want to bash him for the penalties, fine.

But please don't tell me that getting penetration means nothing if it just so happens the team is fortunate enough to have a run called in the other direction (or that you could do it). That's nonsense. He's a DT. He's not an weakside DE on a zone read where he'll get a free rush. If he knifes through the line, it means he beat our guard and/or center - not because they just sort of let him through. That's ridiculous.

Brady had ample time on the 2nd TD drive. The one that Sey was out for. He didn't get that type of time for the rest of the game.

He did nothing this game although he did have some "almost" Andre Carter sacks.

At any rate I love the guy and wish him luck and good fortune against every team but the Patriots. After all he will be in the Patriots Hall Of Fame one day.

Seymour was wreckless... Helluva a player in his SB years, but he was always hotheaded and took frequent STUPID penalties.

Nate Solder say's HI "trade haters"
