When you attempt to suppress a discussion, you are censoring it by definition.
If a discussion is particularly stupid and embarrassing to me as a Patriots fan, I reserve the right to point that out. If that suppresses the stupid discussion, good, I don't feel guilty about that.

And you aren't countering anything save my attempt to learn. You didn't offer any proof of anything yourself. All you did was come in here, start namecalling and try to pressure people into not posting so they don't get bashed. I find that rude.
I don't have any evidence, of anything, and I never said I did. I just see people throwing s--t at a wall and seeing what sticks. Have you read some of the excuses in this thread for why it wasn't a good call? And then people act like there's indisputable video of a tip, when it's actually on coaches' tape that no one here saw. Pathetic! Man up!

Why in the world would a random internet discussion that you have no part in embarrass you in any way? How is it a reflection on you? That sounds pretty self-centered as is the idea that everyone in the world must conform to your unproved opinion.

That isn't what is going on in this thread. This is your own warped and jaded interpretation.

You need some hugs, seriously.

I know they (the players) aren't complaining, because they're not whiners, unlike their online fans. But the online fans don't have any evidence, and the word of players who were in the contest and obviously biased (even unintentionally) doesn't count for crap.

"Was your client the murderer?"
"He says he wasn't, and he'd know better than anyone!"

Let me ask you a question, what if we asked the Bills players? They have access to the same coaches' tape.

This is the Patriots we're talking about. They're not going to leak some play that didn't happen to make an excuse out of it. They were excited about making a play that they didn't get credit for. There's absolutely no reason to make something like this up, and both Belichick and the captains wouldn't let that slide.

As for the Bills, they have no reason to admit it. They'll see it, but them admitting it would get them a lot more negative attention than they want.

So you still don't have any evidence, right? That's what I thought.

Let me get mic'd up here, "In the absence of indisputable visual evidence, the ruling on the field stands."

Of course I don't, just like you can't look at the coaches' tape and prove that the players are wrong. And the ref is standing a hell of a lot closer than any camera, which makes him missing it worse.

Or it means there was nothing to miss.

No, probably not. But when you (and not just you) come here and complain about the other team getting unfair breaks, maybe it would be wise to think of those other penalties that go our way sometimes and realize that bad calls happen in sports. Everyone acts like they only happen against us.

See this is where you lose me I am not complaining about other teams getting breaks I am complaining about the fairness of the rules itself as it pertains to playing defense.

You will never hear me use a penalty as an excuse to lose. But I certainly will discuss the merits of a rule.

He ran into the receiver. You can't do that, even if the ball is uncatchable, it would be illegal contact. So while the effect was huge, the call wasn't that bad (one can see how an official would miss the ball being tipped if its direction wasn't changed by the tip). But the twisting that goes on here is remarkable. Sour grapes & excuses; good thing the Pats are better at taking responsibility for a loss than most of the posters at Patsfans.com.

This is patently false. There are times when the Safety can hit the receiver. The rules even say so. And you're wrong about Illegal contact. If the ball is uncatchable, then it's not illegal contact.

Also, the point is MOOT and you are the one with sour grapes because, as was pointed out, Spikes TIPPED the ball. That makes all contact down field fair game.

Your snide comment only makes you look foolish. Especially when you consider that it's been shown that Brown didn't initiate the contact and that the contact didn't matter since the ball had been tipped to begin with.

Ahh yes, the pass was tipped, that must be 4th or 5th reason people gave in this thread for why it shouldn't have been a call (it was actually offensive PI... the ball was uncatchable... he was held... he cut in front of Brown... the ball was tipped...). Let's see the tip.

Wow. Talk about a jackass..

1st off. When I brought it up in the game thread, I mentioned it was Offensive PI. And it was as Nelson is the one who initiated contact.

Secondly, thee other items are VALID reasons for the Defensive PI call not to have been made. Just because YOU think otherwise, doesn't make it fact.

I see, so you don't have evidence, you just think we should take the players' word for it. Never mind that the players aren't the ones *****ing about it, just the sore losers here.

If don't believe that the Pats will have sent film into the NFL showing the blunder by the Ref, you have to be one of the most naive people to ever post. It's done on a regular basis. Particularly on bad/blown calls.

BTW, you could have chosen not to participate in this thread instead of flapping your trap.

Or it means there was nothing to miss.

You mean like Garay going at Brady's legs?

Or Andre Carter's text book tackle that was flagged as a penalty??

*ROFLMAO* If you are embarrassed by people talking about the rules and the poor call by the referee, then you have absolutely no business being on the internet, never mind in a Pats football forum.

The only person who has sounded "particularly stupid and embarrassing" in this thread is you, Pujo.

So, you have no evidence to actually contradict what people have stated, nor do you understand the rule being talked about. So how can you be embarrassed unless it's about your lack of knowledge?

What Sergio Brown did is completely irrelevant. When the ball is tipped, he can tackle the WR with no consequences. The ref flat out blew the call. That's a fact.

Which rule is that? This tip rule? I'd be interested to read it.

NFL Rules Digest: Pass Interference
Defensive pass interference rules apply from the time the ball is thrown until the ball is touched.

One thing to note is that as soon as Brady's one pass bounced of Dareus' helmet, the one Bills defender tackled Welker and made sure he had no chance at catching it.

Sorry, the ruling on the field stands.

It's part of the Pass Interference rules.. Note 3 towards the bottom.

NFL Rules Digest: Pass Interference

That being said, I believe that Sciz is incorrect about tackling the receiver thing based on Note 5.

Pretty sure that's just on a punt formation. Welker was basically tackled after Brady's one pick was touched and there was no flag.

Sorry, the ruling on the field stands.

There are two differences between you and the average NFL ref. They know the rules, and they can admit when they're wrong.

If that pass was indeed tipped...I don't believe that PI can be called....

I didn't see the tip tho...is it on youtube or a pic of Spikes tipping it?

Supposedly you can't see it clearly in the tv version, but the coaches' tape shows it pretty clearly.

You put the supposedly in the wrong place. Your sentence should be: You can't see it clearly in the tv version, but supposedly the coaches' tape shows it pretty clearly.
