Dolphins worried about noise from visiting Pats fans

Something is missing with the ****ified FL fans. Tamper got blacked out all last season despite contending for a playoff berth thru December and the Phins are notorious for having Jets (ugh) and Patriots fans en mass out cheer their tepid limp wristed claps for the LOLPhins.

I have a feeling a lot of the Pats fans attended the event to hear Gloria Estefan sing.....

I need to go down there one of these years. It'll be interesting to hear when the crowd cheers Monday night.

I guess visiting Pats fans are better than home Pats Fans.

Cities like Miami, Tampa and Atlanta have a hard time selling out home games because their population is nomadic. Something like half the people who live in Atlanta weren't born there. So these cities have a tough time when their teams are not doing too good. It's not like they have the memories of going to old Foxboro stadium with their grandpa, etc, that the rest of us have...

I've been to Sox games at the Trop, and you might as well be at Fenway (at least 50-60%of the crowd), I'm actually going to be in Tampa on Monday and was conteplating a quick junket to Miami, but I think I will settle for the Hooters.

They should really be worried about the noise that Gronk1 and Gronk2 will bring.

I would agree that they are louder. In fact, much louder. Gillette is one of the quieter stadiums that I've been to. I've seen Pats games in Atlanta, Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa and SF and every time the fans have been very vocal. I think it's a combination of trying to represent the Pats, more hardcore fans, less of a corporate influence and alcohol. That said, while Miami was fairly loud considering we got beat bad, it wasn't something that would have caused their offense problems. Hopefully it will be louder this Monday!

Agreed, a lot of people get down on fans of teams from the southeast, but as you mentioned the majority of people living there are originally from elsewhere; not only do they bring their allegiance with them, but often their kids retain that same fandom. And because so many are fans of other teams they catch less grief for it than they would elsewhere; it's a lot easier to openly be a fan of an out of town there than it is to do the same thing in say Philadelphia or Pittsburgh or Boston. On top of that there is far more allegiance to local college teams in those areas, just the reverse of the way it is in the northeast.

Games that I have been to in Miami have always had a large contingent of Pats fans, but I wouldn't go so far to say that Pats fans outnumbered Dolphin fans there.

On a side note if you are in Tampa and want to watch the game with fellow Pats fans I have two suggestions for you:

Boston's on Anderson Road just south of Linebaugh Ave
or K-D's on the corner of Hillsborough Ave & Racetrack Rd

Boston's The Gourmet Pizza

KD's Bar and Grill - Tampa, FL 33635 | Metromix Tampa Bay

Not last year. Me and my family were vastly outnumbered by Dolphins fans as were the rest of the Pats fans there. This year is different. The front office of the Dolphins seems to want to make big, splashy moves instead building an actual team. Listening to sports talk radio down here, people are simply sick of it. Add onto that that Ross seems to be obsessed with competing with Heat to be the #1 team in town, and you get a home crowd that is less than enthused.

Away games are more fun. Besides, the home fans appreciate it. I can't tell you the number of fans who tell me that I am #1.

To add emphasis, the dispense with the pointing finger and use the bigger one for more emphasis.:rocker:

Really? I was in a section that was probably 50-50.....until the 4th quarter, then it was like 90-10

Most of the Dolphins fans in my section were leaving with 7:00 left in the third quarter.

The problem the Jags will always have is the refusal to branch it's marketing down into Gainesville. Hell, it barely reaches Keystone Heights. They are so afraid of going against the collegiate money, they forget about themselves.

Miami has done nothing other than prove what the rest of the Pats fan have been saying. Our fans are gone. Miami U has taken over, and they don't know how to take it back. On top of that, Miami U looks more like an SMU than it does a true UM, so you have people revolting against the oblong shaped ball at the moment. They've got a crap owner, coach, and a 3 yr project at QB. Whats not to love. I hope they get Garrard, he'd be a nice change for them.

It could reach 120 Gronkibels.

With help from Colts GM Polian, Sparano can learn how to really pump up the crowd when Pats are on offense.
