Dolphins Week - Dolphins Fan Check In

I am interested in seeing how Hayneworth does against the Dolphins' O-Line. He has one sack and one forced fumble against the Dolphins in his career (four games). That was before Jake Long was drafted. It will be hot and humid in Miami and Albert looked a little gassed in the Giants game.

In the past, BB had Wilfork line up against Long which helped them to shutdown the Wildcat. Love and Haynesworth inside, Wilfork at end?

I have the Patriots losing in the Super Bowl to the Packers this year, so I think they're a great team.

However, I think the Haynesworth move was a foolish one. I don't think he'll be a Patriot at season's end.

Having a replica NFL football field painted in your backyard as a 14 year old is pretty damn cool if you ask me.

No arguments here -- I'm busy turning my entire house into Hogwarts castle for my daughter's birthday as we speak. Follow your bliss. (And welcome back!)

Hey Aqua....... I remember us all beating up on you endlessly in many threads

Glad you are well. As for the game......... You'll play us tough, but I expect a fairly convincing win for us. You guys have really regressed under Sporano. I expect he'll be canned sometime this season.

I expect Haynesworth plants Henne into the turf at least once this game.

p.s. Thanks for Edds........ I expect he'll go on to do GREAT things for us. Kinda like some other JAG receiver we picked up from you. (I believe you referred to WW that way when we first picked him up). Care to rethink that one. :singing:

Again. Good to see you back.

Cross-posting from the "Everyone but Vollmer at Practice" thread:

We have to deal with Cameron Wake. If Solder's in there, Dolphins would be smart to swing Wake where Solder is lined up on obvious passing downs. I think it be best that Vollmer was completely healthy for this game.

Even Vollmer had a little trouble with Wake last year (at least in the Monday night game). Heck, most teams had trouble with him. By one measure Wake was the top 3-4 OLB in the NFL last year:

NFL Forum :: - QB Disruptions from leading NFL Pass Rushers
Top 5 3-4 OLBs
1. Cameron Wake - 14.0 sacks, 15 QB hits, 38 QB hurries - 67 QB disruptions
2. Tamba Hali - 14.5 sacks, 12 QB hits, 37 QB hurries - 63.5 QB disruptions
3. DeMarcus Ware - 15.5 sacks, 8 QB hits, 39 QB hurries - 62.5 QB disruptions
4. Terrell Suggs - 11.0 sacks, 12 QB hits, 38 QB hurries - 61 QB Disruptions
5. James Harrison - 10.5 sacks, 16 QB hits, 31 QB hurries - 57.5 QB Disruptions

I take the same beatings over at Jetnation, but that's just because they are completel morons that have some sense of false-accomplishment. It's enjoyable, especially when they start losing games.

I can't BELIEVE we let go of Edds. I had him in as our 3rd backer and a serious contributor in sub-packages. We already let Ninkovich go to you guys, might as well give you have of your linebacking core courtesy of us.

We'd be happy to take Wake off your hands.

Hey....I think Miami has a good defense that will keep it close. Expect also that Bush is going to be effective for you guys.....and Brandon Marshall is tough....I think its going to be a closer game than analysts predicting....these two teams always play each other tough...

Some of you remember me, some of you don't, some of you REALLY remember me.

That said, I like to consider myself the longest tenured Dolphins fan of patsfans.com, haven't been around at all, really, mainly because I've found much more of a life and am really busy. (That and it's much more enjoyable to make fun of Jets fans these days; particularly jetnation.)

Any way, it's Dolphins week for you guys. Not a soul is picking Miami to even come within a score in this game; we're kind of the laughing stock of all the major networks. I can't quite understand it. I understand the fiasco that was the Jim Harbaugh situation as well as the Kyle Orton ordeal, but what did those two unsuccessful pursuits REALLY change?

The bottom line is that our defense is still really, really, really good. It was good last year and young. It's only going to get better with seasoning and another year in a new scheme.

Offensively, we obviously had our quarterback issues but a lot of Dolphins fans like to point the finger at Dan Henning's hair pulling offense. We have the speed we didn't have last year with Reggie Bush and Clyde Gates, Brandon Marshall is at full health and we made some changes to an offensive line that apparently will never get better (that's my one concern.)

All and all, I think we're a middle of the road team; 7-10 wins is where we figure to be again. I really don't see where people are getting these 4 or 5 win predictions.

So my question is, how do you guys view this upcoming game? Obviously, you slaughtered us a year ago a pair of times in a special teams melt down and a week 17 game where it seemed like WE were the ones resting starters and our guys came out completely flat.

We have given you guys probably more problems than any inferior team in the BRady/Belichick era, do you still view us as a sneaky team that could upset? Or are we merely a peasant stepping stone on your way to the Lombardi?

If Vollmer plays and everyone else is healthy we win

no worries dude Jets Nation is a JOKE

If you thought that was lame, you think Brooklyn Decker's tits are lame. Having a replica NFL football field painted in your backyard as a 14 year old is pretty damn cool if you ask me. But no, I don't. That was my parents house, that was over a decade ago.

I have no idea who Brooklyn Decker is

Sounds like a big deli sandwich you would get in New York City

Maybe I am too old :bricks:

Want to put a bet on that??

For those who know what I am talking about as well as you Aqua, you get it

That takes me back to the Joseph Campbell studying days.

I think the Fins will be a lot better this year. They have a good D and the O will be better with the new OC.

The first game of the year is always tough to pick it is probably the most unpredictable week of the season in the NFL. I expect the Pats to win but it will be a close game.

The Fin CB's are good so how they try to match up with Gronk and Hernandez will be a key.

I want to see how good our D does pressuring the QB, and what kind of shape Spikes is in + how the S position performs.

I am most interested in

Fins might be good, losing both ronnie and ricky should hurt them shouldn't it? They probably should of traded for Orton but I guess Henne is alright. I personally have them last place but I think they could probably pull it together and compete for 2nd. Let's hope for a good game this monday hoping it ends something like this.

Suffice it to say, her tits aren't lame.

I'm so proud of everyone, a Dolphins fan comes to our forum and we can have a serious conversation about football .........Let's see what happens if any of us go to the Gang Green boards.

YOu guys still have Cameron Wake, right?

dude can disrupt

As long as Gronk-Hernandez-The law firm, and woody can chip and slow him down..I expect to win.

Having said that....Its a road game in MIami, which I usually slate as an L.

Go Pats!

If we go there ....it will be ugly...insults flying ....left and right ....many of them seem to be neanderthals. I have read a few who had made attempts to have civilized conversations...but ..in the end get bashed....

Aqua - Welcome Back. I have to say it's good to see you learned some sense and are much more balanced.

Like others, I respect Miami's defense. The question I have is with your safeties and 3rd CB and whether they can handle guys like Welker, Gronkowski, and Hernandez.

On offense, Miami has done some to shore up their O-line with Pouncey and Columbo. It will be interesting to see how he handles Big Vince. It will also be interesting to see how Long and Columbo hold up against Haynesworth, Carter, and Ellis.

I think that Bodden, McCourty, Arrington and Dowling can match up against the Phins top 4 receivers.

I think that it was a mistake by Miami to dump Lousaka Polite. He was a monster of a lead blocker. This is an area that I think will hurt Miami as I believe that only Bush can handle running it without a lead blocker.. And I don't believe that Fasano, Mastrud and Yeatman (who I was not impressed with) have that ability.

I don't see it being a high scoring game unless either safety group just sucks that day..
