I happen to think Moss still has game, but he's toxic goods to the rest of the league. When you get cast off from the Pats like he did, everyone assumes the worst. They might be right, but he's a useful, if unwilling, member of the shadow roster if things get really bad in the WR department.

Even with that, I would wager many shillings that he has played his last game as a Pat.

I'm with ya man, personally, at this point in his career I think he would be on his best behavior because he now officially knows, "this is really it".

The dude just wants a ring, what's the downside to bringing him in here? If he can take Revis 40 yards downfield to open stuff up for everyone else and contribute like we know he can against everyone else, why not?

Moss is a wild card at this point.

He's not going to get much money, and he'll never get a big contract. There is literally no incentive for him to be on his best behavior moneywise.

The only thing left for him is to improve his legacy and go out on a good note. I'm not sure that's enough of an incentive. I don't think it is. Given that he turned down the Patriots' earlier offer, he may still be deluding himself.

As the years go by, he may think back on his 2010 season and how his career ended, and then he might consider how in the summer of 2011, he turned down a 1 year offer from the Patriots.

He'll have a lot of regrets.

I admit to having a very hard time over how the Patriots WR situation has been handled since 2006. Grabbing Welker and Moss has been great, but the whole Branch thing--awful! Especially when you consider that the Branch pick brought in Meriweather. Given the waste of money over the years for players like Duane Starks, etc., I start to see the benefit of giving the Deion Branch's the $7 million they request.

Honestly i think we have real trouble at the WR position outside the hashes and deep. If teams crowd the middle of the field, taking away Welker and the TE's and play man on the outside i dont think Brady trusts to go to those one on one match ups

If Moss can still play and his ego's at the door, id be tempted to at least bring him into camp and have a look

Not only can he drag Revis 40 yards downfield but he will also drag a safety--this is what is meant by taking the top off the defense. Without him the Jets were able to the crowd close and clog the short and intermediate routes. He does not even have to catch many passes--just his ties uses up a safety and CB.

He was a strong and positive locker room presence; look at all the glowing reports he got when he left. And he is a student of the game and hard worker. The media is a bunch of deluxe douche bags on Moss and unfortunately the many fan started to believe them.

Being hated by Felger is a strong recommendation.

I go back and forth on Moss. Today, I'm for him. Tomorrow, I probably won't be.

But we brought in Ocho and Haynesworth. Both were veterans with question marks who lost focus from playing on bad teams, and both learned to check their egos to play for a winning team. Moss did the same in 2007, and maybe he forgot that, but perhaps he's re-learned that lesson after stints in Minnesota and Tennessee.

Or maybe he's learned nothing. It's hard to know anything when it comes to Moss.

I agree that ....I think Moss realized....the grass is not greener on the other side. The patriots are run a certain way...and if you don't follow ...you are left behind. After the first week ...his salary would not be guaranteed and we could drop him after 1 practice/game. Everyone deserves a second change... so .. I would not mind giving him a second chance

I would take Moss in a heartbeat right now. Why you ask? Well Ocho and Brady cant seem to get on the same page, some of Welker's best seasons came with Moss there, Branch didn't catch a single pass in preseason "oh well its only preseason he will do better in reg season" You know this....how? Brady seems frustrated with Ocho and if you go back and watch some of the games in preseason you will see Brady look at Ocho and then put his head down . So would i take a guy who can stretch a defense make a safety come over on him to get Wes open underneath more my answer is YES in heartbeat.

And they were bounced in their 1st play-off game, so before we start saying that the Pats were great and everything without him, their season was a failure. IF he's ready to come back and do the things we need, them I'm for it. If he's going to jog through routes on plays that the ball isn't going to him, forget it. He's only 3 seasons removed from being unguardable and was a top 5 WR in the NFL in the next 2.

Oh good, it must have been two days since someone started a Randy Moss back to the Patriots thread, I was starting to get worried.

I don't know a whole lot about psychiatry but when it comes to Moss a good segment of Patsfans are living in serious denial, exhibiting delusional. obsessive behavior, seperaton anxiety and have stalker tendencies. Medication or some sort of group therapy may be needed to combat this problem.
