We have just had a 40-7 victory. This coming after a 21-0 loss. Personally, I'd like to enjoy it for a little while.

But there are some people who just can't wait to post their "concerns" and not take a little time to enjoy the win.

I understand that, so I have created this thread just for you. Please post your unhappiness on this thread. All the things that you think are wrong with our 10-4 team, post here.

I hope all of the happy people won't interfere with this thread.

More like the Spoiled Brat thead. They may call themselves realists, but they're just whiney, *****y little girls.

I was disappointed Jackson didn't get any touches mainly because now I have to put up with 6 more days of hearing he's a bust from people who get off by criticizing the guy.

BB has clearly lost it. Previous Pats teams would have won 48-3.

Yes, you will, won't you?

Yeah, but you're going to have to put up with 6 days of rebuttals from folks like me, so it all evens out, doesn't it?

I am unhappy because I forgot to shake the A1 sauce before putting it on my steak.

I'm uphappy that NEM just made 12 uninterrupted posts in one thread (The Official Pats/Texans Discussion thread) in a span of 35 minutes........

at that rate, how am I ever going to catch up to his total post count?

What a waste of a thread.

If you're all so "happy" why do you feel a need to pi$$ all over those who can *gasp* look beyond the final score to take a more in depth look at the stats to try to figure out how the Patriots might fare against a playoff caliber team?

Frankly I have no problem with PATSNUT and others who want to bask in a blowout of a pretty poor team.

I've always kindof felt like that's what fans of mediocre teams do. Maybe I'm spoiled, but for me it's all about the Vinces... I enjoy the regular season but the "real" season starts in the Playoffs... this, to a degree, is pre-season.

And usually in pre-season games I'm less concerned about the score, more concerned about what our long term prospects are with our personnel, how they are performing, health concerns, playcalling, etc.... and, although many don't want to admit it, the way this team has played against better competition, we're not ready to go deep into the post-season yet.

Now if we could play teams like the Texans and Minnesota and Green Bay in the playoffs I'd be sky high, but something tells me that's not going to happen.

So in my opinion, if one is interested in seeing the Patriots do well in the playoffs, there's plenty worth talking about tonight.

I enjoyed the game. It's over. I'd bet Belichick is taking that same view as well.

PATSNUT thinks its wrong to be looking ahead like that - that we should wait 24 hours and only talk about the positives today.

I disagree - and think it's ludicrous for him to attempt to discourage others from doing what BB himself is doing tonight.

C'mon, Joe. This forum is no place for logical football analysis and discussion. It's perfect for threads like this.

From out of the darkness, a voice from the light! I posted a similar statement on another thread. That insight, analysis, and critical review is what makes this board great. It should not be discouraged. I, as you, enjoyed the great victory today, and I still bask in its warmth. However, there are still things to work on before the playoffs start, and the whole point of these discussions is not to go HOORAAY blindly with every win. I can do that with my kids. Its to dissect those things and to discuss what the team has done or can do to correct them. We can then watch the games to see the progress in these areas, all more enlightened and in tune with how this organization thinks.

Of course, none of those who enjoy getting into the analysis are starting threads chiding those who want to enjoy the win for awhile...

Yet for some reason the "true fans" feel a need to try to stop others from sharing their views?

I can imagine similar discussions are taking place on the St. Louis Rams board - where the some fans of the victorious 6-8 team are basking in a win over the Raiders, but other fans are probably looking beyond the win - and even beyond the season, to contemplate how their team can be re-shaped to actually win a Championship.

Of course on second thought, if I was a Rams fan I probably WOULD just be celebrating a win tonight... they've got nothing else to look forward to this season.

THAT's the difference in my eyes between Patsfans and other football fans... we don't get too high in celebrating wins over mediocre teams... we strive for excellence.

Well most of us anyways.

I have a tempered enthusiasm because this is the Texans we just played, but this game is how we won Super Bowls in 2001 and 2003. Our offense was not great either of those years, they just scored enough and didn't turn the ball over. In fact in 2003, we really didn't score enough in a lot of games because four of the regular season games we scored 12 points or less without a TD in any of those games. We were 17th in offensive yards, 12th in points per game (that included our league high 5 defensive TDs though), and 27th in rushing.

We won't be able to do what we did to the Texans today to the Chargers or many of the other playoff teams. But if we play like we did today, we can certainly beat anyone we face. We played smart, virtually mistake free football today.

The 2006 Patriots defense is the best in Patriots history in points allowed (13.8 PPG compared to 14.9 in 2003 and 16.3 in 2004). We are first in the AFC in take aways. All the offense really needs to do is not make mistakes like the 2003 team did as long as the defense plays like it is capable of.

Logical football analysis? Where? I'd love to see some discussion of how we're improving for the playoff run.

All I find is worst offense evah!!!!1, (not based on statistics, or todays score or won loss record).

And He's a bust!!!!!!!!!!

Please direct me to the logical football analysis. Is it in one of those new forums?:bricks:

As would I.

But there's a fallacy in putting too much stock in statistics... that could lead some to believe that the offense in 2002 was better than in Super Bowl years.

Common sense and good eyesight is all you need to know that this offense is not yet playing championship caliber ball... and I do worry that ultimately, we don't have the personnel to avoid Dolphin like defensive schemes that have the Safeties playing on the line because they know the "deep" threat is usually all of 8 yards down field.

Putting a stop to the mistakes was a good step in the right direction today - but one would hope the team could do that against a 4-10 team. Doing it against a 10-4 team will be more of a challenge.

I basically agree. My problem is, we're done. This is the team. No more trades, draft's in April.

I saw a little more crispness today. Sure, I'd like to see 5-6 catches from the new guys, but let's build on it in practice this week.

According to Gannon, they were playing 6 DBs a fair amount, so why do you want to pass a lot, especially when up 27-0 at the half.

The D looked good, special teams looked good and I'm happy to get Gus Scott back and Rodney. If we can keep them all, we'll have a very versatile, deep Defensive Secondary.

Faulk looked great and Evans and Thomas wered good. We have room for improvement, but that's better than being thin and knowing this is as good as it gets.

Corey looked good and should be a beast if Maroney is OK and can pair with him.

Look for more improvement next week, or hope the defense bails us out, but don't just whine about things over which we have no control.

Yeah, there are a lot of fans since 2001 who are all about the Vinces. Never had to root for a 1-15 team (not that they would have).

There are so many times over the last 40 years I would have been estactic to see the Pats play .500 ball. It's comical to hear guys whine, gripe and complain because we are only 10-4, to cry that we don't win "right" or "dominate" and to dismiss wins as not counting because the opponent was easy.

I'm disappointed because I didn't get the "predict the score" contest 100% right. Why did the Pats have to score so many points?????

I'm happy that the unhappy people could use this thread. We even had a unhappy person unhappy with a thread that he could freely post his unhappiness. And another unhappy person agree with his unhappiness about starting a thread for the unhappy.

That's is really taking advatage of a place to voice you unhappiness. I don't expect anyone to thank me for starting this thread for them. That would mean that they were happy about having a thread for the unhappy.

Amen to his post.

Amen to this thread.

Amen to the Patriots.

Amen to the PLAYOFFS.
